Jaguar News
A Monthly Update for Meadow Ridge Families
Principal's Message - May 2021
Well, it seems May is off to an incredibly quick start...so much so that my newsletter is late in getting out to you all! Our staff and students are working hard to squeeze every last bit of learning out of the remaining days we have left in school. Even though state testing was cancelled for spring, our school is still fully immersed in making sure students are making progress towards mastering their grade-level standards, learning how to take care of themselves and others, and being the most PAWSOME humans they can be. Oh, and we try to make sure we are having fun along the way as well! Speaking of fun, we are working on some pretty amazing activities for our last week of school, so stay tuned for more information to come in next month's newsletter. ;)
With a bit over six weeks left in the school year, I'd like to thank all of our families for continuing to support their Jaguars at home. When students have a designated space and time to complete schoolwork, are encouraged to read books purely for enjoyment, and are asked about what they are learning in school, it makes school so much more meaningful and relevant to them. All of these things take intentional time and effort from parents/guardians in times when extra time and effort is not a given. I believe with all of my heart that every one of our Jaguar families is doing the very best they can for the children in their lives, and for that I am exceedingly grateful. I can promise you that we, as staff members here at Meadow Ridge, share the same commitment to your children as well. This shared responsibility and partnership between families and school is what makes the Meadow Ridge community such a special place for children and adults alike.
As always, thank you for taking time to read this newsletter. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or happy news to report!
Warmly,
Robin Placzek
Meadow Ridge Principal
DW's Corner
Good afternoon, Jaguars!
Can you believe it is May? With warmer weather, birds chirping, and flowers blooming, it is obvious spring is here. And with it comes a feeling of hope. It's been a long winter, and a long year, for many of us, and I feel like we are finally turning a corner. Students who have been working on friendship skills are making great choices. Children are identifying and talking about their feelings, and how to manage them. Human connections are being made, under challenging circumstances.
As we prepare for the end of this school year, I think we have grown stronger together. I'm so grateful to have been witness to it. As you prepare for summer months, and transitioning to another school year, please let me know if you need anything (debbie.wiechert@mead354.org). In the meantime, stay kind, be brave, and remember...we can do hard things.
