Write the script? Act a role? Create FX? Compose music? Join us!
HUSH, Jr is capped in order to support the best experience, nurture student creativity and build a sense of team. We hope rising 6th - 8th graders will join us to create an original story that will be performed and recorded live at the Phipps, aired on the radio and uploaded as part of #HUSHpodcast.
Eight episodes into its sci-fi series, the HUSH team is ready to expand to form a junior level especially for middle school students. Do you like to write? Act? Compose music? Play instruments? Draw? Sing? Create sound effects? Be a part of dreaming up a new universe of characters and story connected to, but independent of, the Edellen portal.
The first episode of the new HUSH-Jr series will be performed live at the Phipps on July 27, aired on Voices in the Valley on KLBB radio, and then uploaded as a part of the HUSH podcast series on iTunes, Stitcher and GooglePlay Music. All students entering grades six through eight in the fall are welcome, but once the team is full, it will become a closed group, so be sure to sign up now.
We've got a great team of adult professionals to support the project including: Writing Mentor Stephani Atkins (Executive producer Voices in the Valley, Hush), Production Manager Alan Frechtman (Prairie Home Companion veteran), Director Calyssa Hall (Artistic Director of the Zephyr Theatre), Acting Coach Randal Berger (Professional Actor), Producer Jenna Yaron (Producer at KLBB Radio).
The $175 tuition covers all activities related to the podcast during the months of May, June, July and August of 2017.

Become a published author! Find out more Monday, June 12, 5:00 to 6:00 PM
Ever want to write a non-fiction book? There’s no time like this summer! During the months of June and July, join Shire programming director and creative writing specialist Ellen Eigner to write and publish an original writer’s manual that asks: What’s my story? How am I going to tell it? Explore the fundamentals of good storytelling as it applies to novels, screenwriting, podcasts, short stories, graphic novels, non-fiction, poetry and plays, then share what you’ve learned! Students will collaborate to create a book on writing geared towards a teenage audience that will be published both as an e-book and in hard copy and sold on Amazon and at Valley Bookseller. Contact steph@theshireonline.com for more details. ($50 snack and registration fee)
Organizational Meeting with Ellen Eigner will take place on Monday, June 12 from 5:00 to 6:00 at ArtReach St. Croix, 224 N. Fourth Street, Stillwater.
