QES Alder Library
Our librarian, Mrs. Satterfield, is ready for customers! Students may request books by browsing our digital catalog, and requesting with the Library Request Form. Not all of our books are in the catalog, so students are encouraged to request books even if they do not appear to be available in the catalog. We have some opportunities for students to browse the library by appointment. If you would like to do so, please let us know in the additional information section of the form. You may also select books by title, author, or subject and we will provide those to you at our regularly scheduled Friday drop off/pickup.
We are missing several books from our closure last spring. If you have library books at home, please bring them back to school. You may drop them off on Fridays during our regular drop off/pick up time.
QES Pioneer Campus Notes
Greetings Families!
We were saddened for the power outages which resulted in cancelling distance learning two days this week. There's been some challenges so far. Hopefully we won't see any further setbacks.
Hubs - students on campus. We are excited for upcoming opportunities to bring those students who requested to be on campus. Students will be placed in small groups called hubs. We are required to limit the size of hub groups, and a student can only be in 1 hub. Students must be healthy and have no symptoms of sickness to be on campus. Additionally, students will need to be screened before coming on campus, and will need to wear a mask (outdoor breaks without masks will be provided). Students will need to be on their best behavior and follow their teachers’ directions to ensure everyone remains safe. Finally, parents will need to sign a form before students may come on campus. Please stay tuned for more information and start dates for your child’s hub opportunities.
Assembly this Friday. We are hosting our first zoom assembly this Friday, September 18 at 8:30 am for all of our students, staff and families. Please zoom in as we introduce this concept to help build our community at the Pioneer campus. https://zoom.us/j/92973202076
I am extremely impressed with this Pioneer staff. They are professional, committed to supporting students and work incredibly well together. They have continued to take on new challenges this school year, and kept their focus on providing the best experiences possible for our students. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with all of them, and excited to get to know our students and parents in the coming weeks. This is an amazing learning community and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be the principal.
