Gryphon Post
August 3rd- 7th
Welcome Back....
I went to Richard R Green High School of Teaching and our motto was: "Where Teachers are Learners and Learners are Teachers. The idea was, as we learned, we would be equipped to teach. Our teachers shared how they learned from us as we turn keyed what we learned from them. Well, you guys, already in 2 days have warmed my heart. To see how you guys have made this motto come to the forefront of my memory again, brings me great joy. We as a leadership team, discussed last year, how we wanted this time in PD, to truly be empowering for our entire staff. We worked really hard last year, to empower and develop you all to be able to stand bold in your own ability to learn and grow each other, and OMG!! I really have no words. THANK YOU, for your YES, and for your commitment! I truly am inspired and invigorated by ALL of you and what All of our scholars will receive from you. Enjoy your weekend!!!

Message from Maia...
Please see and follow through with the message from Maia below:
Hello Teachers,
I loved spending time with you at our Together Teacher class today. We continue to be inspired by your hard work, thoughtful questions and dedication to improving your practice (and life!) in all things Together.
Here’s the feedback survey link and some reminders:
- Feedback survey. Please complete the 5-minute survey about our time together.
- Optional homework [by EOD Monday] We’d love to see how it goes with your Weekly Worksheets and Meeting with Myself checklists! For anyone who’d like to share, please send your tools (in whatever format is easiest – Google doc, PDF, screenshot, photo, etc.) to Kendra at kendra@thetogethergroup.com by end of day on Monday. And we can post them on the class Google site if you want to share with the class!
- Want to review today’s class? The Nearpod slides are up on our class Google site, and the class recording will be posted by end of day. And check here for all of our suggested review steps!
We really, really, REALLY like keeping in touch. Here are a few ways to reach us:
- Visit the blog (also a good spot for free resources, helpful tips and continued collaboration)
- Follow us on Facebook
- Poke around on Pinterest
- Hang out with us on Instagram
- And here's the list of our other upcoming online courses.
Looking forward to staying connected.
Warmly,
Maia
PD Zoom Links...
Also, we have made some changes to the PD schedule in your handbook (happens every year), because we are constantly thinking through what the most important things are that you all need to know. Therefore, look at the Google Doc for the most updated schedule.
Important Pre-Work for Thursday!
Just like last year, it is extremely important for you to complete the PRE-WORK so that you are intellectually prepared for the meeting, and your time will be used most effectively.
SUPPORT STAFF MEMBERS AND SPECIALS: Since you will be supporting a classroom or grade level, you will also need to know the content so you can support the classroom teacher.
Please look at this pre-work document so you know how you need to prepare. There are links throughout the document that will take you directly to the resources on Blackboard or Google docs.

Message from Yasmin...
Welcome to our new Uplift teachers! I hope you had a great first week. For all of our campus staff who will begin returning to campus over the next few weeks for various reason, I wanted to make sure you had this short (less than 5 minute) video on what our safety protocols look like for staff on entering our building and keeping everyone safe while in our buildings. A much longer safety video is coming and of course details are in our “Return to School” field guide on Uplink that I sent out earlier this week. Again, please take 5 minutes and watch the below video.
