Big picture

Yearbook Design by Students

Our PTA had a wonderful idea this year for our yearbooks! We decided to let students design art work to be featured on our Rankin yearbook. The front cover, back cover, title page, and autograph page will feature this art. Ms. Abby McLaurin, our art teacher, worked with students who were interested in competing in the contest. Then we worked with PTA to select the 4 pieces of art work. Congratulations to the following contest winners, pictured above from left to right, Fernanda Tovar Ibarra, Caitlyn Robinson, Ms. McLaurin, Isaiah Foxx, & Dorian Pritchard.

A special thanks to Ms. McLaurin for helping all students submit their art work for this project during her class and for inspiring us all

You won't want to miss this special yearbook edition with our very own students' artwork. Yearbook order forms were sent home yesterday. You may order until April 15. The cost of a yearbook is $15 and you can pay online, with cash or check. To pay online visit strawbridge.net and use the code YB106493. Checks should be made payable to Strawbridge. If sending cash, please send the exact amount as we cannot make change.

Our Next iReady Challenge

iReady Challenge #4

February 18 - March 19

Watch the new Lion King movie during the school day and eat popcorn!

Are you ready to meet the challenge? Here's what you need:

  • 7 passed lessons in Reading

  • 70% or higher pass rate in Reading

  • 150 minutes of time on task in Reading

  • 7 passed lessons in Math

  • 70% or higher pass rate in Math

  • 150 minutes of time on task in Math

*The iReady pass rate is calculated by looking at all lessons with a score of 70% or higher. The pass rate is not an average of scores for the lessons. To figure a student’s pass rate, take the number of lessons with a 70% or higher and divide it by the total number of lessons in the challenge window dates. This time, you will use the dates Feb. 18-Mar. 19 (2:20 pm is the deadline).

Neon Dance Party

We had a blast at our Neon Dance Party! The dance party was our school-wide incentive for iReady Challenge #3 which ended on Feb. 13. 476 students showed some incredible dance moves at or party! We hope to have 100% of our students at the next School-wide iReady Reward! Don't give up! Check out some of the fun in the pictures below.

Mrs. Hann's 3rd Grade Students Having Fun!

Mrs. Hahn's students had some hands-on fun while learning equivalent fractions. This is a very difficult standard for students, so she decided to let them explore fractions in a collaborative, hands-on way! Way to go 3rd Graders!
