New Student Registration

Registration for students NEW (including PreK and Kindergarten) to the Hallsville Independent School District will be held:

  • August 7th from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (FOR NEW STUDENTS ONLY)

Please be sure to bring the following to registration:

  • Proof of Residency Documentation: Current Harrison County Tax Statement, Current Lease, Current Purchase Agreement/Contract, or Approved Student Transfer Paperwork
  • Student's Birth Certificate
  • Student's Social Security Card
  • Parent's Drivers License
  • Current Shot Records
  • Copy of Prior Year Report Card if available
**Students must be enrolled by a parent/legal guardian.

Returning Student Registration

Registration for students returning to the Hallsville School District will be held:

  • August 8th from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • August 9th from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Returning students must complete the online registration prior to the above listed dates. You will have the option to upload your proof of residency online this year. Please be sure to bring the following to in-person registration:

  • Current Harrison County Tax Statement
  • Current Lease
  • Current Purchase Agreement/Contract
  • Approved Student Transfer Paperwork

Late Registration

August 15th from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM for both NEW and RETURNING students.

Meet the Teacher

Our annual Meet the Teacher night will be held on Monday, August 20th from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Our PTA will offer themed campus t-shirts this year for PTA members and they will be available for preorder on this night. Be sure to stop by and take a look at the new design! This is separate from the campus t-shirts that will be offered for field trips, field days, etc. once school begins.

School Supplies for 2018-2019

A supply fee will be charged this school year instead of an issued supply list. The campuses have worked very hard to purchase items in bulk to save our families money and to assist our teachers with needed items and organization. In addition, we have incorporated that past $10 art and science fee that campuses have charged.

Thank you for your support! We hope this is a blessing to your families and to our staff!

PreK -- $40

Families will supply a backpack (large enough to hold a folder), a nap mat, and a small blanket/towel.

Kindergarten -- $45

Families will supply a backpack/lunch box and headphones (no earbuds please).

1st, 2nd and 3rd Grades -- $40

Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up Map for 2018-2019

A map for parent pick-up routes for 2018-2019 will soon be shared. The route is the same as 2017-2018. PreK students will be picked up in the same location as Kindergarten. Drop off will occur under the main awning and pick up will be split into 2 lines.


In an effort to assist our PreK students with transitioning to full day school and to assist with traffic the first few days of the year, our PreK students will begin their day at 8:30 a.m. and end their day at 2:30 p.m. for the first three days of the year (August 22nd, 23rd, and 24th). Parents should come inside the building to drop off and pick up those first 3 days using the PreK entrance (will be marked).

They will begin their regular schedule of 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 27th. Beginning on this day, students should be dropped off and picked up in the regular drop off line.

If your child will ride a bus the first 3 days or has a sibling at East, then they will arrive and leave at regular times.

School Hours for 2018-2019

School will begin at 7:45 a.m. and the tardy bell will ring at 7:55 a.m. Doors will open at 7:15 a.m. for students to enter the building. School will officially end at 3:30 p.m. We will dismiss all students for pick-up beginning at 3:30 p.m. Our buses will begin loading students at 3:30 p.m.

Join our East Elementary PTA!

We are excited to begin the year with our newly established PTA! You will have the opportunity to find out more information and join the PTA at registration. You can also find out about volunteer opportunities on our campus. The volunteer form in the newsletter will submit your information to our PTA volunteer coordinator. The PTA fee is $10 for each parent.

You will also need to complete the district volunteer form and have a completed background check before volunteering on campus or chaperoning any field trips. If you are cleaning out closets and find pants or shorts that you may no longer need, you can donate them to the nurse's office. We are running low on back up bottoms for students that may need a change of clothes during the school day. We could use both girl and boy bottoms in all sizes.

We are also in need of underwear and socks.
