Skyscrapers have many glass windows.
- Say the sentence. Clap the syllables in the word glass and skyscraper.
- Write the sentence. Point to each word as you read it. Encourage children to say the words.
- Hold up letters g and w. Have the students find g and g in the message.

Questions to ask:
Display the book. Point out this is a book about big things made by people. Read the name of the book and introduce the author and photographer.
Stop on pages 10 and 11. Point out that these are the giants they are learning about today.
Discuss skyscrapers. What materials are skyscrapers built out of? (metal, steel, brick, concrete)
What shape are skyscrapers?
What is the function of a skyscraper? ( building, office, homes, restaurants)
Ask the children how they would get to the top?
What kind of energy would be needed by the occupants?

Daily Literacy Practice
- writing your name
- putting together name puzzle
- practice saying the letters and sounds of the letters in your name when someone points to the letters in random order
- Review flashcards for letters c, f, m, t, h, n, o, f, r, p, k, s, b, l
- Add Letters g and a to the flashcards. Make one that is the uppercase letter and one that is the lowercase letter. Review these letters each day.
- Find things in your house that start with each letter we have studied.

- write the number
- make a group of 9
- count the group
Cut out 9 objects and glue them in your journal. Write the number 9 on the page with your objects. Take a picture of your journal page to submit in see saw.
