DIGITAL CITIZINSHIP INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN
Detailed plan with links you will need to implement the plan further down the flyer.
1. Students take Unit 1 assessment in Common Sense Media's curriculum.
2. Students analyze their own data.
3. Students create their own individualized pathways for learning.
1. Complete Rings of Responsibility Chapter & Assignment in CSM's iBook (free)
I can't meet with the teacher right away, so I will complete this assignment first in iBooks on my iPad.
2. Meet With Teacher
The teacher is teaching the topic I need help with, Responsibilities to my Larger Community Online, on Tuesday at 10:15.
3. Play Digital Passport App (free)
I'll see how I'm doing by playing the Privacy section of the Digital Passport App on my iPad since that has to do with the question I missed. I'll check my progress in the app with my teacher.
4. Retake the Unit 1 Assessment
Students re-evaluate: If I do well, I will move on to the Unit 2 assessment. If I miss some questions, I will create a new individualized path.
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN IN DETAIL
Create individualized digital citizenship pathways for students with a blend of small group instruction using the lessons created for you in Common Sense Media's Curriculum, independent work using Common Sense Media's digital workbooks, and the Common Sense Media's online learning platforms: Digital Passport (elem) & Digital Compass (6-8). To begin, have students take the Unit 1 assessment in Common Sense Media's Scope & Sequence. Depending on how a student does, let them take the next unit's assessment or print off their results and help them analyze their data to create an individualized plan for learning. They can highlight the questions they missed and sign up for small group instruction, complete workbook assignments and spend time in either the Digital Passport or Digital Compass online platforms all based on what they missed in the initial assessment. Assess through observation during small group instruction, the assignments students submit to you in the workbook, and the teacher dashboard in the online platforms. Students can take the Unit 1 assessment again as soon as they feel ready. Summative assessment can occur through the unit assessments.. Once a student has passed all unit assessments with 90% or higher accuracy, they can receive a digital driver's license and be issued their very own iPad! For older learners or high potential kids, let them do and create with Digital Bytes, a project-based digital citizenship program.
