A message from the principal
Happy New Year
We hope everyone was able to enjoy time with family and friends, and find some time to relax over the winter break!
Our Character Strong trait for the month of January is Perseverance. PurposeFull People define perseverance as pushing yourself to work through challenges and obstacles. Here are some things you could do as a family:
- Like a resolution, each family member commits to one thing and keeps track of their progress.
- Share personal stories of times you, or someone you know, persevered.
We are excited to continue to see our Lion's persevere and achieve great things!
Happy New Year!

In District Transfer Information
Applications for in-district transfers and open enrollment to Anoka-Hennepin Schools are due on January 15. The district will notify families if their application is approved.
Please note that only current Sunrise families impacted by the boundary shifts may opt to apply for an in-district transfer to Sunrise. If approved, families would need to provide transportation to and from Sunrise.
Anoka-Hennepin Schools also offers schools that provide in-demand educational options, such as the arts, science, technology, math, engineering and biomedical sciences (STEM/STEAM). Families would need to complete an in-district transfer application.
