Counselor Connection
9/9/2022
Welcome to Eagan High School
The EHS counseling office is excited to support students and families in the 2022-2023 year!
You can expect a Friday Counselor Connection email with timely information and updates from the counseling office. The EHS comprehensive school counseling program includes lessons for students in each grade, parent seminars, individual student appointments and a variety of other services in the academic, career/post-secondary and social/emotional domains. For more details about our program and resources visit the Eagan High School Counseling Website.
A Friend in the Counseling Office…
Milo (4-year-old miniature Schnauzer) and his owner, Michelle Lehmann (EHS Counselor) are a Pet Partners certified therapy team https://petpartners.org/about-us/who-we-are/
Milo and Ms. Lehmann volunteer with North Star Therapy Animals, an organization in which “the common purpose is to improve the lives of as many individuals in our communities as we possibly can, by providing high-quality therapy animal teams and services to a wide variety of facilities.”
The therapy team of Ms. Lehmann and Milo will be providing service at Eagan High School this year on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. We hope that you have a chance to meet Milo soon!
Counseling Intern
We are excited to welcome Anna Steedman to EHS for the 2022-23 school year. Ms. Steedman is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota who is working on her Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Ms. Steedman was a middle and high school French teacher!
Ms. Steedman will be accompanied by Breezy. Unlike Milo the Therapy Dog, Breezy is a medical service dog. She does not interact with students and generally is just sitting calmly at Ms. Steedman’s feet.
Ms. Steedman will be at EHS on Mondays and Fridays this year.

Common Application Student Seminar
The Common Application is a single online college application used by over 900 colleges and universities. Instead of filling out the same general information for each application students only do it once. However, each institution has some individual requirements and students need to work with their counselor. All Seniors planning to use the Common Application when applying for college are required to attend the Common Application Seminar on Wednesday, September 28th. Students will be able to sign up to attend the seminar during their senior meeting. Students applying with Common Application are also required to schedule an individual appointment with their counselor and bring their completed Request for Letter of Recommendation Form to the meeting.
Peer Tutors Needed for Trimester 1!
The Counseling Office is in need of Peer Tutors for T1. We need help from students with excellent grades and who like to help others. Students can click on the link below to sign up to BE a Peer Tutor. Once students complete the form, they will be added to a list of available peer tutors. A counselor or counseling office secretary will contact the tutor via Schoology when we find a match.
