October 1, 2015
Dear Parent or Guardian:
This year, your child will have the opportunity to participate in the program “More about Growing Up.” This program is part of a pre-teen series that is specifically designed for 6th graders. Educators from the Council on Adolescents of Catawba County who have been thoroughly trained in this area will present the course.
This three-day course examines the physical, emotional and social changes of boys and girls during puberty. Students are separated according to gender to help all students feel more comfortable with the topic. Discussions and other activities allow the teacher to guide the youth to solutions of age-appropriate situations and practice respectful behavior toward one another.
We look forward to having your child participate in this class. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Council on Adolescents of Catawba County at 828-322-4591.
The class will be held at Blackburn: October 27 – October 29, 2015 – 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Sincerely,
Jessica Minton-Cable
Principal
