The GDP is $6,100 (2012 est.), country comparison to the world: 142, $5,800 (2011 est.), $5,400 (2010 est.). The agriculture products are rice, sugarcane, grains, pulses, oilseed, spices, vegetables, fruit, tea, rubber, coconuts; milk, eggs, hides, beef; fish. There are many industries and here are some of them; processing of rubber, tea, coconuts, tobacco; telecommunications, insurance, banking; tourism, shipping; clothing, textiles. Partnership plays a big roll in imports here are some partnerships; India 25.6%, China 15.9%, Singapore 7.1%, Iran 6.2%, Japan 5%. Partners are also a big part in export also here are some export partnerships; US 19.8%, UK 9.2%, India 6.5%, Italy 5%, Germany 5%, Belgium 4.4%. The name of currency is Rupee.


Sri Lanka is a republican goverenment. The leaders in the executive branch are President Mahinda Percy RAJAPAKSA (since 19 November 2005); note - the president is both the chief of state and head of government. Dissanayake Mudiyanselage JAYARATNE holds the largely ceremonial title of prime minister (since 21 April 2010)head of government: President Mahinda Percy RAJAPAKSA (since 19 November 2005) cabinet: Cabinet appointed by the president in consultation with the prime minister. The leaders of the judicial branch are supreme court.


There are different landforms in Sri Lanka such as; mostly low, flat to rolling plain; mountains in south-central interioras. Some natural resources are; limestone, graphite, mineral sands, gems, phosphates, clay, hydropower. Some natural disasters are occasional cyclones and tornadoes.


The nationality is Sri Lankan. Some of the ethnic groups in Sri Lanka are Sinhalese 73.8%, Sri Lankan Moors 7.2%, Indian Tamil 4.6%, Sri Lankan Tamil 3.9%, other 0.5%, unspecified 10%. There are many languages spoken in Sri Lanka here are some of them; Sinhala (official and national language) 74%, Tamil (national language) 18%, other 8%. There are differenet religions in Sri Lanka such as; Buddhist (official) 69.1%, Muslim 7.6%, Hindu 7.1%, Christian 6.2%, unspecified 10%.
