We had 70 students (5 teams of students) compete in the Regional Competition for Science Olympiad Saturday against 26 other teams from the Inland Empire.

We earned 1st place, 3rd place, 10th place, 11th place and 23rd. Our teams won a total of 97 medals. Great Oak will go on to compete in the State Competition on April 8th.

• AP and IB testing will be here in a few short months. The testing window begins on April 27th and continues until May 19th. We will need proctors to help us administer more than 2,000 exams for more than 1000 students. Please make sure you do NOT sign up for a session where your student will be testing. We have been alerted that your child may have been exposed to an individual diagnosed with COVID-19. We are following updated public health recommendations to ensure that the person with COVID-19 follows instructions for isolation and remains away from others until they can safely return to school.

What does this mean for you and your child?

According to the new CDHP guidelines, your child may remain in school unless they develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19.

Students requesting help in their science classes can sign up using the QR code on the flyer attached below. Tutors from Science Olympiad will have access to the list of students and can coordinate 101 based on their preferred subject. Tutoring will be done at the library either before or after school.
