Being a Christian

Christianity is the belief that God's son Jesus once walked among us. Christ is the son of God and the root of the word Christianity. Christians share the same belief that Jesus, son of God, suffered, died, and was buried to free us of our sins. It was started by Jesus Christ approximately 2000 years ago. It is one of the most influential religions in the world. Christianity began in Jerusalem amongst the slaves which were Jews.The Church is the oldest and largest institution ever known and over 2 Billion practice the Christian faith. There are 3 major Christian Religions; Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant. Each Christian Religion has their own different traditions, but, some of the more commonly shared are Christmas, Easter, and Ash Wednesday. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. This is observed on December 25th of each year. It is, usually, shared with prayer and gathering. Secondly, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lint. The forty day period of fasting and repentance leading up to Easter. Easter is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year. It is the celebration of Christ's resurrection from his crucifixion by the Romans.

Traditionally, priests, ministers, pastors, deacons, or bishops conduct the Christian ceremonies in churches around the world on Sundays, Friday, Saturday, and Wednesdays. However, there are many different recognized ordained officials and church can be found ongoing all days of the week. All Christian religions do use the Holy Bible as one of their books worshiped. Although, some Christian faiths use different parts of the Bible, such as the use of both the Old and New Testament. The Bible is the oldest and most common information sources for the Christian faith. Documenting and explaining the creation and beginning of the Christian Religion. Abraham, like in the Jewish and Islamic faith is documented throughout the Bible as well. The most common symbol for all Christians is the Crucifix or Holy Cross.
