Where Excellence is the Standard - Week of October 25, 2021
RANDLE HIGH SCHOOL UPDATE
Dear Randle High School Families,
This week marks the fourth week of the second grading period. Parents and students please take note that this grading period only has five weeks, so make sure to turn in any missing or late assignments.
As many of you know we have started our after school House Bill 4545 Tutorials. We provide transportation for all students who are staying for tutorials. Transportation will take any student to their zoned elementary school. I would also like to share that any student who needs tutorials for any class (not HB 4545) can utilize the transportation. Busses pull out at 5:30 pm. Please review the tutoring schedule below as well as the HB 4545 offerings below.
I would like to recognize all of our band and color guard Students. This weekend they will attempt to qualify for the UIL State Marching Band Championship. They recently received superior rating (all 1's) at the area competition in El Campo. I have been fortunate to see their performance and can proudly say they were amazing. I do not believe a campus in their first year has ever qualified for State. Let's tell Mr. Crummel and his crew congratulations for advancing and we know they will represent "Excellence" this weekend!
I would like to ask that we stress to our students the importance regarding absences and tardies. Please review the qualifications and begin addressing any discrepancies you feel are incorrect.
Saturday Detention will begin this week. Any student with five or more tardies this grading period will receive their invite this week. Parents please stress the importance of getting to class on time. Finally, this weeks football game has been changed to Wednesday instead of Friday. Let's show our Lion Pride and show up in force! It is PINK OUT and SILLY SOCK DAY!
Events for the week of October 25-29, 2021:
Traffic:
Traffic on Minonite will continue to be congested until future road construction has been approved. I encourage you to leave the house early to ensure your child arrives on time to class which begins at 8:15am. If you qualify for school transportation, that is the most efficient way for your child to get to school on time.
Sincerely,
John Montelongo

ADVISORY CHANGE
Monday, October 25th, 2021, starts the beginning of a new era. At Dr. Thomas E. Randle High School, we will be incorporating two new programs developed by teachers on this campus: MANE Time and PRIDE Plus. These programs will be held during advisory classes, which is a 30-minute block during 4th period.
MANE Time: This program will allow students to build character, prepare for post-secondary goals, and receive assistance with schoolwork.
PRIDE Plus: This program is correlated with our House Bill 4545 that was recently passed for students to receive accelerate learning. If your child did not meet the state's requirements for passing STAAR, they will be placed in either an ELA or Math class depending on their grade level, STAAR scores, and required hours they need to complete.
All students will be placed in new advisories, and they were notified this past week of this change.
