We have a mini temple in your house called the pooja room. We have all kinds of mini gods from India.
What do you wish there was more of?
I wish there was more space in the closet of the room of praying.
I could not live without the pooja room because that is where all the gods are and I pray there everyday and if that was taken away, it would not be nice.
Holiday's and Special Traditions
- Holi is called the festival of colors and it celebrates the arrival of spring. As part of the festivity, we throw colored powders and water at everyone.
- Diwali is also called the festival of lights and it celebrates the welcoming of the goddess of wealth. On that day, everyone lights up candles, electric lights, and fireworks. (the people buy the fireworks and light them on the streets because they can).
- Dussehra is a Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. People might hold special prayer meetings and food offerings to the gods. They also might hold melas or outdoor fairs.
