Mr. Posick's Friday email
March 24, 2017
Many of you know that I enjoy spreading the good news of our school on social media. The students follow our school Instagram account, families follow our Facebook page, and my colleagues follow our school (@mertonint) and me (@posickj) on Twitter. One of the things I enjoy doing is following hashtags on Twitter. Our school hashtag is #mertonint and staff and I use it often. After students took the Forward Exam this week, I will tell you I was one #proudprincipal. The staff was very flexible with the schedule and our students really focused during the times they were testing. You should be proud of them, too.
Attention 8th grade girls!
If you have an 8th grade daughter who likes to dance, this might be an opportunity for her to get involved at Arrowhead. Tryouts will be held on March 27th, 28th, and 29th at Arrowhead in the South Campus gym. Tryout times are 5:00-8:00PM each night. Please contact Tami Ennis (262-391-3272) or via email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions.
Even if you don't have a 5th grader, this is a really cool story about our school. Our 5th grade Social Studies teachers, Mrs. Jones and Ms. Schmidt, organized the opportunity for our 5th graders to be interviewed for positions at BizTown, an experience sponsored by Junior Achievement. The students had resumes, filled out applications, and dressed up for interviews for jobs. Take a look at the pictures below to see how the afternoon went. A big thank you goes out to those who volunteered their time to interview all of our 5th graders.
Spring Break dates (April 8th-April 17th)
As we approach the end of March, we begin to think about Spring Break. There is a full day of school on Friday, April 7th. Our Spring Break begins on Saturday, April 8th and goes through Monday, April 17th. School resumes on Tuesday, April 18th. If your family will be on vacation before April 8th or continues after April 17th, please make sure to contact Mrs. Emmerich in the office via email or phone. Thank you!
