February: A Heart for Prayer
Some of our youth have been very busy making hearts, hearts that will be hung from the ceiling in the narthex by January 24th. On the back of each heart will be the last name of a family here at ORLC.
Our hope is that you will take a heart or two home and for the month of February keep that family in your prayers. You can pray anonymously, or feel free to reach out and ask for specific prayers, or just connect and say "hey, I'm praying specifically for your family".
If you can't make it to the church and would like a name randomly pulled for you, please contact Ericka 907-440-0367 or office@orlc-ak.org.

United Way Walk 4 Warmth
Let’s Help!
United Way of Anchorage is challenging our community to help raise funds to keep hundreds of people warm this winter. United Way ‘s challenge is from February 5-14.
You’re invited to join Team ORLC—Walk 4 Warmth!
Who:
· Team ORLC will be made up of ORLC members/households/friends.
How:
· Meet at Mirror Lake on 2/13/2021 at 1 p.m. and walk, sled, ski, skate or stand or sit in your car and cheer others as they walk around the lake.
· If you can’t make that date, you can have your own personal “event”: walking around your neighborhood or house, skiing, skating, etc…Anything that keeps you warm.
Donations:
· Any financial donation is very much appreciated. You are encouraged to get additional pledges for your Walk 4 Warmth too. United Way has corporate sponsors that will match all donations and ORLC will match up to $1,000.
· Checks should be made out to ORLC with a memo of Walk 4 Warmth. Envelopes will be available in the Narthex for these donations. Donations can also be turned in at Mirror Lake on 2/13, to the outreach member near the lakeside pavilion. All donations are due February 14, 2021.
**This is a COVID SAFE event. Stay with your household group and at least 6 feet away from others outside that group while participating. Dogs are welcome, please keep them leashed and as always please clean up after your pup.

ORLC Scholarship Fund Information
A scholarship fund has been started through the generous donation of a long time member. If you would like to donate to this fund, please make a note on your check that your contribution is for the scholarship.
Applications for the scholarship will be available April 1. In February, a request for three volunteers will be made to serve on the scholarship review committee.
The purpose of this scholarship fund is to assist qualified applicants with their higher education or training tuition expenses. The applicant does not have to be going to a Christian based school or seeking religious training.
There may be several scholarship awards in any one year depending on the number of the applicants and the money available. Each year the scholarship committee will determine the amount of money available prior to opening the application process.
This scholarship may be used for tuition only. It may be awarded to graduating high school seniors, returning students, applicants for post graduate training, or full or part time students.
Please contact Gaye Sarvela if you have questions at 907-841-2046 or Sarvela@mtaonline.net.
