Message from our Principal
New Hope Families,
THIS PAST WEEK was a busy but exciting week!
- On Monday, we celebrated Haley Gurley (NHES Teacher of the Year) and Judy Dick (NHES Support Professional of the Year). At the MCSS Excel Awards Ceremony, Mrs. Gurley was recognized at Alternate Teacher of the Year for the entire district!
- On Wednesday, our school was visited by both district and state guests that wanted to see our wonderful students and teachers in action. As a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, our school continues to be model of high-quality teaching and learning.
- On Thursday, we celebrated Veterans Day with a special lunch for those serving or having served in the military. Students and staff decorated and helped greet our guests. Teachers made special soups and brought in desserts to be shared with our honored guests.
- On Friday, Our PTO wrapped up the week with a special PTO Bingo Night. The event was a huge success! Classes, with help from our amazing room parents, created baskets that were used as prizes.
THIS WEEK is our final week before Thanksgiving Break. It's also the week of our Fall Book Fair! Although students can shop this week during their weekly library time, in coordination with the 21st Century Community Learning Center, the NHES Library will have a Parent Event on Tuesday, November 15 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Tribe System News
Our mission is to "empower students to LEARN, LEAD, and LOVE through partnerships with families and community." One way we promote academic excellence, leadership skills, and compassion for others is through our Tribe System.
At the end of each nine weeks, we recognize the Tribe with the most points for that nine weeks. Students can earn Tribe Points for great character, great grades, and great attendance. Students also have opportunities to participate in community service projects and Tribe competitions at different times of the year.
