Tena Koutou Katoa
The Friends of Toko School Committee met this week and have decided to run a modified Pig Hunt Challenge for any children/families that still want to go hunting over Labour weekend. Children can still enter the Big 3 - rabbit, hare, possum and the Goats Head and these can be brought to school on Tuesday 26th October. See below for details.
As mentioned in last weeks newsletter Calf and Lamb Day is another event that we can not run at Alert Level 2. This event can only proceed at Alert level 1. We have decided to move the date to Tuesday 26th October. If Calf and Lamb Day does not proceed we will be organising a fun Agricultural Day for the children.
The day will look something like this:
8.30 - 10.00 - Big Three and Goats can be dropped off at school
10.00 - 11.00 - Year 8 children can bring their lamb/calf or goat - leading demonstrations and show and tell with the whole school watching. Big Three and Goats - results
11.00 - 11.30 - Morning Tea
11.30 - 1.00 - Agricultural Games/Activities
1.00 - BBQ lunch supplied by the Friends of Toko School
2.00 - 3.00 Agricultural Games/Activities
Further details will be sent home after the school holidays.
The Hall of Creativity will be set up on Friday 22nd October.
Children that are still caring for and rearing a calf/lamb or goat are encouraged to take photos, create a poster/video or some other creative display to share and bring to school on Tuesday 26th October.

Touch - Term 4
Thank you for anyone that has returned their touch forms. Organisation of teams has been sent out today via the school app. This starts on the first Tuesday on Term 4. A draw will be sent as soon as it is received.
We are on the hunt for 3 travel bags that are no longer in use to be able to use for our sports teams when they attend a tournament to be able to carry the team balls and supplies. If you have one that you are no longer using we would love to put it to use.
Tennis - Term 4
Bruce Cleland will be back in term 4 to coach tennis one afternoon for 6 weeks starting in November. This costs around $50 per child for 1 hour group sessions for years 2 and above. If your child is interested in this please email email@example.com more information to follow next term.
Yes it’s that time of the year again and we would like to welcome you all to our free open days to kick the season off.
So dust off the cobwebs and weather permitting we could see you on Saturday at the Stratford Courts
You are more than welcome to bring your friends and family and to spread the word.

CHICKEN HELPERS AND HAY REQUIRED
With the holidays quickly approaching we are needing some helpers to feed the chickens. It will only be Wednesday and Friday of the first week, and Monday, Wednesday and Friday the second week. If we get enough helpers it will only be one day each. Please get in touch with Mrs Coulson if you are able to help. Thanks.
If anyone has a spare bail of hay we would really appreciate it for the chicken sheds. Please get in touch with Mrs Coulson about this.
