Welcome Back

I hope everyone had a restful and fun-filled summer break! I'm so excited to see my students this week for our first week of EXPO. For those of you new to EXPO, my name is Michelle Clayton, and I have the privilege of helping your child reach his/her "exceptional potential". If you would like to learn a little more about me, please visit my website.

Scholarly Behaviors

One of the areas we focus on in EXPO is how to be a scholar and which behaviors scholars possess. Not only are these areas rated on the EXPO Progress Report, but we also use them for earning tickets and goal-setting purposes. Students will be keeping track of these behaviors daily. It may also be helpful for you to talk to your child about his/her strengths and weaknesses in relation to the 9 behaviors.

Scholarly Behaviors: Bring Tools, Ponder BIG Ideas, Ask Good Questions, Exercise Your Intellect, Set Goals, See from Different Perspectives, Save Important Information, Thirst for More Knowledge, and Access Multiple Resources

Email, Google Drive, and Google Classroom

We will be using Google Classroom and Google Drive on a weekly, if not daily basis. It's a wonderful avenue for flipped learning, collaboration, enrichment opportunities, and project creation.

If your child has trouble logging in, one of the most common problem is forgetting to add @g.dentonisd.org to the login information. Try that, and if your child's account still won't work, please let me know so I can get it unlocked.
