Red Ribbon Week - "Red Out" Friday (10/26)
Halloween
Fun and Friendly Costumes Please!
Halloween is coming soon. It’s time to think about your costumes. For our school parade and party please wear only fun and friendly costumes. Fun and friendly excludes blood, gore, scary/frightening masks or clothing, and weapons. If anyone has questions concerning the appropriateness of a costume, please contact the office. Thank you for keeping things on the fun and light side!
Parade and Parties
Please do not have your child wear their costume to school. There will be time to change before the parade. The parade will begin at 2:00 (please update your calendar as this is a Wednesday so we have moved the party up due to the earlier dismissal) in the hallway by the kindergarten rooms. It will progress into the west hallway and up to the lobby. Weather permitting, the students will go out the west doors, around the north side of the building and come back in the main entrance, then back down the east hallway. If it’s raining, the parade will go through the gym. Parties in the classroom will follow the parade.
Food Safety
Please remember to follow the District Approved Snack List. Linked is the lists of what to bring for parties or birthdays. Thanks for helping to make Rockbrook a caring community for all of our students. We hope you have a fun and safe Halloween!

Dropping Off Your Child? Please Bring Them In & Sign Them In
Please remember to call the school office at 390-6475 before 9:00 a.m. if:
- Your child will be absent from school for any reason.
- Your child will be late for school
- You would like to join your child for lunch and need to order a tray for yourself (orders need to be received before 9:00 a.m.)
Often times parents will tell the teacher when their children are going to be gone, but sometimes the teacher is gone as well. The office really needs to know. We would appreciate your help with this anytime you know your child will be out of school.
Also, please let the office know if you are going to be out of town and someone else will be taking care of your children. In the case of an emergency, we want to reach someone as soon as possible.

Hy-Vee Receipts
Please save your Hy-Vee receipts from September 1-December 31 to help Rockbrook School fund educational needs. Hy-Vee will donate $1.00 for every $200 Hy-Vee receives in receipts. This is not only for groceries but Hy-Vee gas receipts also. Every penny counts and can add up to thousands of dollars. So tell your friends, neighbors, relatives to save Hy-Vee receipts. It's simple and easy! Simply bring all Hy-Vee receipts to Rockbrook School and deposit them into the HyVee red bucket located in the school lobby.
