Principal's Message
Dear parents/ guardians,
This week we had Alien In-Line Skating visit us. Our students had an incredible time learning to skate and try out a new skill for many. Thank you to Mrs. DeLeeuw for organizing the event and to NCFS for paying for the program for our students!
We also had our Turkey Trot on Friday. We saw some incredible turkey costumes! Our grade 8/9 students were the judges who picked our top 5 costume winners - Gavin, Bridget, Piper S., Wade, and Athan. Congratulations to our winners from the guessing game who each won a $50 gift card to Independent Grocers - Sage, Aurora, Gavin, Cole M., Aaron, Ava, Jaylynn, and Lucas! A big thank you to Independent Grocers for donating $100 and Niton Central Fundraising Society for donating $300!
Hot lunch will be starting this week! Each week on Thursday, our wonderful volunteers will be preparing our hot lunch. This week is poutine, $3 for one, $5 for two. Please send your child with money on the morning of hot lunch.
On Tuesday, we started Brain Gym! Each morning, our K-5 students gather in the gymnasium where they spend about 10 minutes practicing whole body movements. These movements help to work on gross motor skills, cross body control, and utilizing different parts of the brain. Brain gym is also a great opportunity for students and staff to start the day in a positive and supportive space that let's them get some of their wiggles out.
With Monday, October 9th being Thanksgiving Day, there is no school. I hope that each of you have a wonderful long weekend with your family.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend,
Bailey Benson

It was wonderful to see all of our awesome turkeys for the day!
