The Lion's Share Newsletter
From the Desk of Mr. Miller:
Welcome to the March edition of the Grant newsletter! As always, I hope you are all doing well! It is hard to believe that we are quickly headed into spring! I am always encouraged to know that warmer temperatures are ahead of us! After 15 years of living in Colorado, however, I'm also aware that spring time is usually when we could potentially receive our most snow of the year. It's never a dull moment!
I would like to thank you for your participation in our 28 Days of Kindness Challenge! I heard from so many students and families about the kind acts their Lions performed or saw take place. Whenever a kind act was performed or witnessed, our Lions filled out pieces of confetti that we have hung in our entry way. Be sure to check out the picture below to see all the confetti! My hope is that we can keep moving forward in being kind to each other and ourselves!
Thank you, families, for taking the time to fill out a few surveys for the district this month. One of the surveys that was put out by the district was the 5E survey. This survey is taken by students, staff, and starting this year, you! In order to receive the feedback from parents, we need to have 20% of our families take the survey. At this time, we have had only 16% take the survey, which means the school will not be able to access that data. The good news is that the district has extended the window for you to take the survey if you have yet to do so. You can access the survey here: http://survey.5-essentials.org/sd11/survey/parent/ The survey will remain open until Friday, March 12.
In other news, we have a new weekend breakfast and lunch program that we are excited to start! It will begin this Friday, March 5. Be sure to check out some of the details below. Finally, one of my favorite times of the year is celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday with Read Across America Day! We have a great day planned for our Lions. I sincerely hope that by this time next year, we will be able to have you all back in the building to celebrate this fun event. Have you started thinking about which Dr. Seuss character your student will dress up as? We can't wait to see the costumes! Also, if your student is online and wishes to participate, please do! Send me the pictures of your student dressed up to my email address, which can be found at the very bottom of this newsletter.
I really do appreciate you taking the time to read through our newsletter and hope you have a wonderful March! As always, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Mrs. Veneris and some of our Lions took a picture with some Colorado snow to send to a few penpals in warm and sunny Australia!
These students in Mr. Sanderson's class were hard at work with some hands-on science projects!
Sometimes it's important to find some time to hang out in the sun!
This hard working student earned some Lion time for showing Responsibility, for being On Task, for having an A+ attitude, and for demonstrating Respect! He asked to hang out with Mr. Miller and may have left his office with a few goodies! WAY TO GO!
Look at all of that Kindness Confetti! Each one of those is from a student that either had someone be kind to them or saw an act of kindness happening! Way to go Lions!
