Conroe High School Tiger Tracks
October 3, 2020
Hello Conroe Tiger Families,
Thank you for an excellent week! We appreciate all of the hard work that your students are putting into their classes and activities.
Please remember that Monday, October 5th, we are going to be following a White Day bell schedule. Freshmen that normally begin their day CHS Main on Mondays will report to the Ninth Grade Campus. Students will follow a White Day bell schedule on Monday and Wednesday for the upcoming week. Tuesday and Thursday will be a Gold Day Schedule. There are no classes for students on Friday, October 9th or Monday, October 12th.
Here are a few additional updates and reminders:
Grading Period - All work must be completed and submitted to teachers by the end of the day on Thursday, October 8th. This day marks the end of the first marking period. Virtual and In-person students need to have all assignments turned in and submitted in Canvas. If students are passing all of their courses, they will have the opportunity to regain eligibility if they were not passing at the 6-weeks progress report. Students will lose eligibility if they are not passing all of their classes by the end of next week.
Student ID Requirement - Students need to properly display their student IDs at all times. Since our students have to wear masks, we need to be able to identify them. Our students are doing great consistently remembering their student IDs. If a student loses or forgets their ID, then he or she should pick up a temporary ID in the Assistant Principals’ office. There will be a $1.00 fee to collect a temporary ID. Replacement IDs can be purchased for $5.00.
Mask Requirement - We appreciate your student’s dedication to properly wearing a mask every day. Our students are doing what we ask and we appreciate your support with this situation. When a student forgets his or her mask, we have provided them with a new disposable mask. Unfortunately, we do not have the supply to continue providing masks for free. We will begin charging students $1.00 for disposable masks. We can add this fee to your student’s account. Please remind your student to bring a mask every day to avoid having to purchase a mask.
Athletic Events - This year our capacity will be limited and tickets will not be sold at the gate! This includes all athletic events. Please see our CISD Athletic Website for more information: https://www.conroeisd.net/department/athletics/ or click here to purchase: https://apps.conroeisd.net/EventTickets/Default.aspx
All school meals are currently free to all students. Breakfast and lunches are available for all students to pick up. This will continue through the months of October and November. The PSAT will be held for registered students at the Main Campus on Wednesday, October 14th.
Last night we had a huge Conroe Tiger Win! Once again, all of our students groups looked amazing under the Friday Night Lights! We appreciate your support! We are honored to serve you and our Conroe Community! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns: contactchs@conroeisd.net or contactchs9@conroeisd.net .

Important Information For Freshmen
Freshmen In-Person Parents
If you bring your student to school by vehicle, then please remember that the traffic loop in front of the Ninth Grade Campus contains two lanes. Vehicles can utilize the inside lane (left lane) to help alleviate traffic. When our duty personnel see students getting out of the vehicle from the left lane, we will stop traffic in the right lane allowing your student to cross safely. Please remind your student to check traffic before getting out of the vehicle. Parents, please continue to drive slowly and safely in the student drop-off area. Wednesdays and Fridays have more traffic in the morning. We appreciate your attention to safety and patience every day.
We have Class of 2024 t-shirts and hoodies available in the front office at the Ninth Grade Campus. Please have your student stop by if they are interested in purchasing some merchandise.
HOMEWORK HELP
Message from CHS Clinic
If your child will need medication to be available at school, please call the clinic during school hours to discuss your student's health needs and to make an appointment to check in any required medication.
OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATIONS
Any medications used to treat symptoms consistent with COVID-19 such as cough, shortness of breath, headache, sore throat, and body aches will not be administered without a current healthcare provider’s note. This includes: metered dose inhalers, cough and cold medications, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen. At this time, nebulized medications will not be administered during the school day.
SELF-CARRIED EMERGENCY MEDICATIONS
A student's physician may recommend that the student be allowed to self-carry emergency medications such as Epipens or asthma inhalers. Specific paperwork must be completed in order for the student to be permitted to self-carry medication at school. Please contact the clinic if your child will need to self-carry emergency medication.
SCHEDULED PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS
Unless the prescribing physician specifies that a medication must be given during school hours, the medication should be given at home. This will help to prevent student exposure to contagious illness in the clinic and student loss of classroom instruction minutes.

CHS9 Clinic Message
There are some changes we would like to make parents/guardians aware of as we get ready for our on- campus students.
Over the counter medications, including but not limited to, cough/cold medications, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, to treat symptoms that are also symptoms of COVID-19. Such as cough, sore throat, headache, muscle pain, and/or diarrhea will only be checked in and administered to students with a current healthcare provider note. Also, at this time we will not be administering nebulizer treatments during the school day. Parents/Guardians are strongly recommended to contact their student’s healthcare provider to obtain metered dose inhalers rather than nebulizer medications while at school.
Please refer to the road map to reopening for any questions you may have and as always please feel free to reach out to the clinic directly.
MEDICATION DROP OFF:
We will be having a medication drop off done in the main entrance foyer by last name, Tuesday 8/25 7am-9am and 1pm-3pm with the last names beginning A-K, Wednesday 8/26 7am-9am and 1pm-3pm with last names L-Z, and Thursday 8/27 from 2pm-5pm for anyone who was not able to make the previous times.
