Taking Attendance
I would like to provide a little background on the emphasis we've placed with attendance the past couple weeks and why some of you might receive a friendly reminder from Nicole Weaver in Attendance. The object is not for us to get you in a "gotcha moment". Please see the main reasons below:
- Student Safety is #1. We need to know where students are. When a student's attendance is not accurate it puts us in a bind trying to locate a student or when they show up absent in one class, but not in another. Students marked absent generates responses and contacts from the school. Again, if this is not accurate those calls don't go out.
- Our district is working to provide buildings with more accurate data to help drive decisions for our Tier Teams. One of these data points include that we have teachers taking attendance each period. Looking at this data we have identified areas in our building needing attention.
Thank you for your help with the attendance. Please see me if you have any questions.

Super Bowl Dip Competition
Our next cooking/baking competition will be on Friday, 2/2. In celebration of the Super Bowl, please bring your favorite dip (hot or cold) to share with the staff. Just because Tom Brady only eats healthy food, does not mean we have to.

Entering Absences (Timeclock & SEMS)
At our District Secretarial meeting today, we discussed payroll and what the responsibility is of staff in regards to clocking in/out and requesting leave. HR and payroll both agreed that staff need to submit requests through the time clock! This includes hourly staff and teachers. Their theory is if you can send an email to say you’re going to be gone for whatever reason, you’re also able to go in through the time clock and request your time. They do not want secretaries to have to do that. If you’re sick, you have a child sick, you know you’re going to be gone, etc you NEED to put that request through the time clock. You are responsible for your own time. This also allows you to see your leave balances as well.
If you’re having problems submitting a request whatever reason you can email me and I can assist in adding it. If you are gone and you do not submit a request of leave through the time clock and there’s no email/voicemail saying that you’ll be gone and what time you would like to use, I will not be adding it and trying to guess what you would like to use. HR and payroll are trying to hold staff accountable for their own hours/requests.
Reminder to Paras and hourly staff; you may access the time clock by; Cell phone, Computer with internet service, Time-clock machine.
Payroll is hoping that it might help alleviate the number of missed punch in/outs. Please see me if you need assistance in locating the webclock on the district page. As always, please fill out a pink form if needed and turn it to me.
