CUDOS
CUDOS to all of you for being so amazingly proficient at your jobs! Mari and I both appreciate all that you have been doing these last few weeks to self-manage situations when we have not been available. We recognize that you are handling many things that you should not be handling, and we apologize for putting you in that situation. Please know that we are working hard to improve this so we can better support EVERYONE.
CUDOS to Martha for sponsoring Jack Gantos' visit with our 4th graders. I know they enjoyed his presentation.
CUDOS to the HOSPITALITY Committee for hosting the Holiday Party! I heard it was great fun for all! I'm sorry to have missed it--but I did get to spend the night with my grandbaby and those chances are few and far between!!! :-)
COMPLETIONS
Teachers: We are attempting to complete all TTESS observations prior to the break. If we had to cancel yours, first of all, we are SO SORRY!! We know that is so stressful for you. Please get with us as soon as possible to reschedule.
COMING UP
Dec 5: Only 10 days until Holiday Break!!!
Dec 5-9: Stage is Closed during lunches
Dec. 6: Writing Benchmark 3rd-5th Grades; 4th grade be sure you've checked the small group schedule
Dec. 6: Santa Photos starting @ 8am.
**Specials teachers will take 4th graders at 8am. We will then start with PK and go in grade level order until we get to 5th grade. The office will be helping us make contact when we are ready. PTA will be helping us pose the little ones. If you want a class picture, it will be done with either your camera or the PTA camera as we will not ask the photographer to rearrange his camera and lights for a large group.
Dec. 6: If you've read this whole document, wear your CLE shirt (the one we all have) with jeans on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
Dec. 7-9: Penguin Patch will be open throughout the day. Students will be allowed to shop when they finish eating lunch if they have money. You can send them during the day, but no more than 2 at a time from your class.
Dec. 7: NBMS Band to visit @ 1:15pm
**I'm double checking the details on this one. I believe they want to play in one area only instead of wondering in the halls. I'll let you know as soon as I have details!!
Dec. 9: Mari has to have the textbook room completely clear of ALL out of adoption textbooks and resources by this date!! This means she may be bringing you books/workbooks to send home with your students. If you have out of adoption textbooks in your classroom that you do not want, this is your opportunity to box them up for the recycle company to pick up. This ONLY applies to textbooks, not trade books. Please make sure you box them up, and we will let you know where they need to be stacked. The recycling company will be picking them up during the break. If you have textbooks in your classroom that are out of adoption and you choose not to box them for pick up, they become yours effective Dec.9th and in all future moves, they go with you. :-)
Dec. 12: Vertical Team Meetings @ 3:15pm
Dec. 14: PTA Cookie Exchange in Lounge
Dec. 15: McTeacher's Night @ Walnut McDonald's from 5:00 - 8:00pm. Kalisha will be sharing a sign up sheet. There will be a Jean Coupon for each hour you volunteer. Please plan to take at least a one hour shift. PTA works hard to coordinate this and we received $1,400 from this last year.
Dec. 16: Holiday Parties--Make sure the office has a party plan for your grade level so they know when to expect guests to your classrooms!! Parties should be completed by 1:00pm in order that cars are gone for us to dismiss.
Dec. 16: Early Release @ 1:15pm

Jan. 11: Awards Assemblies
Jan. 13: Campus Spelling Bee
Feb. 2: 100th Day of School ???
CAUTIONS
Should we end up experiencing a bad weather day, all staff is required to make up that day. The students do not as 10 minutes has been added to their school day to accumulate time for making up the day already.
Summary Notes from our Lockdown Drill:
First of all, AWESOME JOB keeping the kids quiet, organized and in a safe area of your classrooms. The officer could not even see ONE CHILD as we went through the building. Great job preparing to keep our students safe!!
A few things we learned:
1) We need to ALL use COUNTY LINE GROUP for the emails. If you tried and it wouldn't work, please figure out why it wouldn't work so that next time it will. If you have to, open someone else's County Line Group email and hit "reply all" to do so. There were some emails we didn't receive because the person they were sent to wasn't the one who ended up monitoring the emails.
2) If possible, flip iPads to "dark and down". There were some classrooms where students were not visible, but brightly glowing iPads were visible.
3) I will work on some sort of window covering that can be dropped down very quickly for your doors.
4) The courtyard doors must be kept locked during the school day.
5) The bus gates must be kept locked. If your class goes to recess and the gates are open, please let the office know so we can get them closed immediately.
CLE CARES
Monica Hairell and Eric Aguirre: I believe both of them will be getting updates very soon. Keep their medical staff in your prayers as well.
Sherry Rose in the loss of her mother. She believes the funeral will be next weekend.
Taylor Harrison lost a close family member this weekend.
