From the Desk of Ms. Clark

October 24, 2019

Dear Parents,

"One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts." (Psalm 145:4) "From this, and many other Scripture passages, we can see clearly that each generation is called to build on the foundation left by the previous generation. Therefore, all generations need each other to complete the work that God has called us to fulfill."

We are so excited to welcome our grandparents and special persons to Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic School tomorrow morning. We are overwhelmed by the response we have received for our event, and we have planned a special morning. We will begin our celebration by gathering to give praise to God at our Mass of Thanksgiving at 9am.

As we recognize and honor the gifts and wisdom of the generations, we pray that both the young and the old hear and embrace the Good News of our Lord, Jesus Christ, so that we all may learn to see with eyes that find God in every aspect of our lives.

God’s blessings,

Ms. Clark

Fall Open House

Don't forget to mark your calendars for our Open House! Pay us a visit after mass on Sunday, November 3rd from 12:00 to 2pm. All are invited to attend, and we hope to see you there!

Veteran's Day Celebration

Please join us for our annual Veterans Day Celebration when we will honor those who have served our country and fought for our freedom! If you have a relative who is veteran and he/she would be able to join us, please call the office. Our celebration will begin at 10am on Thursday, November 14th.

Winter School Uniform

Students must begin wearing their winter school uniform on November 1st. As always, a neat appearance demonstrates respect for others and fosters an individual’s sense of self-respect and pride. The SKD winter uniform requirements can be found in our Family Handbook on our school website.

Please Check MSP

The Parent Portal is still open on MSP. If you have not done so already, please go in and check your information and make any necessary changes. The Parent Portal will close on October 31st, so please be sure you sign on and check.

Healthy Hands, Healthy Heart

Fall is here, and with the cool breeze comes the unfortunate cold and flu! If your child is sick, please keep him or her home. Please remind your child to always remember to wash his or her hands. Studies have proven that hand washing (next to the flu shot) is the BEST way to avoid colds and flu. A healthy diet and sleep also keep your immune system going, so be sure that your child gets plenty of rest!

Student Safety First

IMPORTANT- When arriving to school in the morning, all cars and buses MUST enter the entrance by the Saint Katharine Drexel School Sign and exit through the driveway closest to the church. No car or bus will be permitted to enter through the driveway closest to the church.

Please enter the morning drop-off car line with caution. The morning drop off is an express line; parents may not stop and get out of their cars. Students must exit from the PASSENGER SIDE only. Students MUST be ready to exit the car once pulling into the car line drop-off in order to eliminate back-up traffic. DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE CAR LINE. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE LINE TO MOVE SLOWLY TO EXIT.

If you need to bring your child into the school building, you MUST park your car in the front of the school and enter through the main school entrance. You must report to the office. No cars are permitted to park or idle in front of the school in the fire lane.

Late Arrivals

After 8:15am, your child is considered late. Parent and child must report to the school office and sign a late arrival form. Children will not be admitted into school late without a parent present, so please do not just drop your child off at the front school door.

Please make every effort to get your child to school on time. This teaches our students respect and courtesy along with an understanding of the importance of being on time. When a child is late, it disrupts the morning routines of the classroom and often the child becomes overwhelmed.

Health and Wellness Policy Reminder

In accordance with the Archdiocese Wellness Policy, the Council Rock School District, and our school health committee, no food/candy treats will be allowed at school for birthday celebrations.
