Worthingway Middle School Updates
On Monday night, The Board of Education approved a recommendation from Dr. Bowers to move to an All-In model for our students beginning Monday, March 22nd. We have had 1,150 Worthington staff members receive their first COVID vaccination and they are scheduled to receive their second soon.
The Worthingway staff is truly excited to have all of our students in our new building at the same time. I know this has been a difficult year with the number of transitions we have had moving between Remote and Hybrid learning, but having all of our students in school every day will be great! In order for this to occur, we will maintain our current safety protocols - mask wearing, hand washing, and directional traffic in our hallways. We will move to 3 feet for social distancing while masks are worn and 6 feet social distancing when masks are not worn, which will be during our lunch periods. In our new commons area and our gymnasium, we will be able to accommodate our students in the All-In model during lunch.
The District has also changed Friday, March 5 and Friday, March 19 from blue group days to green group days. This change is due to the recent snow days for the green group students and the impact these had on instruction. A new calendar, related to this change, is posted below.
Enjoy the warmer temperatures this weekend!

District All-In Learning FAQ
1. Lockers become areas where students like to congregate and share items. For safety reasons, we are trying to keep students from congregating in the hallways.
2. The new lockers do not have locks for our lockers at this time.
I know students are carrying a number of items, and I do apologize for the inconvenience.
A big thank you to Ray Lees for volunteering to help us with our traffic flow daily!!

Middle School Scheduling Updates
Ohio Dental Outreach
Worthington Schools is happy to be partnering once again with Ohio Dental Outreach to offer in-school dental care. The dates for Worthington Estates and Worthingway Students have been changed, they will be Wednesday March 3rd and Thursday March 4, 2021. The services will be performed at Worthington Estates Elementary (Worthingway students will walk over accompanied by school staff). Dental care includes a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings, all occurring during the school day. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and CHIP. For those without insurance, a low cost self-pay option is available, or you may also request donated care to cover the cost.
Permission slips are available at your school office. These need to be completed and returned as soon as possible, or you may complete the form online -- the links for each school are found below. Parent/Guardian signature is required in order to treat your student on the day of the clinic. We need as many students as possible to complete permission slip by February 19, 2021, although students will be accepted after that date and through the clinic dates of March 4&5, 2021.
If you have any questions please contact Joyce Casey, our School Nurse at 614-450-4300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
