Earbud and Cell Phone Policy
Please remind your students of the HCHS policy that cell phones & ear buds are stored out of sight any time a student is in the hallway during the school day. Student safety is our top priority, and when distracted by phones and earbuds, students miss important announcements, compromising their safety and the safety of others. Students were reminded of this policy repeatedly over the last three days, along with the consequences of having phones and/or earbuds visible when they are in the hallways. Please be aware that beginning Monday, August 13th, failure to comply with this safety policy will result in disciplinary action as dictated by board policy. A description of this policy can be found on p. 13 in the student handbook located in the student planner. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us address this important safety issue.

Freshman listen up: Class officer applications are now available at each unit desk. If you have questions stop by B103 Mrs. Shartzer, G 206 Mrs. Stovall or G109 Ms. Jackson.
Young ladies ages 15-19 the Miss Beautiful Me Pageant representative will here on Friday August 24th during lunches outside the cafeteria to accept applications.
Students for your safety you will not be allowed to have your cell phone or earbuds in or out in your hands while you are in the hallway at any point from the time you enter the building in the morning until you leave the building in the afternoon. We will ask you for our device and earbuds and they will be locked up in the vault for 24 hours, discipline notice written and a parent or guardian come get it the next day. This is a safety concern and you need to hear the announcements during passing. You are to have earbuds out and phones put away when you enter the building and also when you leave out the door of the lunch room.
