Did you know…
Our yearbook is the only yearbook in any division in the state of Michigan to win a Crown award through Columbia Scholastic Press Association in New York City. Our 378-page yearbook is a student publication produced by young journalists who are learning to photograph, interview, write, and design to make the best publication to represent our GB Family. Sarah Morgan (Photo Editor) and Zapporah Turner (Design Editor) were recently named to the All-MIPA Student Journalist staff for our state’s scholastic press association. These are the editors who have dedicated two, three, and even four of their high school elective courses to make your yearbook.
The last day to order a yearbook is May 1. Yearbooks will available for pick up the third week of May. Because we sold out last year, the only way to ensure your copy is to order by May 1. Yearbooks are $80.
Visit gbyearbook.com to order with a credit card online or to download an order form and pay by check or cash.

Spring State Testing
State Testing is approaching for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade (and untested 12th).
Test dates are:
- Tuesday, April 11th: 9th - PSAT9, 10th - PSAT10, 11th - SAT
- Wednesday, April 12th: 11th – WorkKeys
- Thursday, April 13th: 11th – MSTEP
All three days of testing together, called the MME, is a GBHS graduation requirement for 11th grade. All 9th and 10th grade must now take the PSAT on the scheduled date, also. Homebound, Online and Seat Time Waiver students must also take these tests.
Please contact Mrs. Briggs if you have any questions concerning this testing at tbriggs@grandblancschools.org
2017-2018 Scheduling Information
The registration process for the 2017-2018 school year has been completed for 8-11th grade students. Schedule changes in the fall will be limited to the following reasons:
- There are less than 6 classes listed for each semester.
- The schedule is lacking a graduation requirement
- The schedule needs adjustment because of successful completion of a summer school class.
- The student did not meet the prerequisites to advance to the next level of a subject.
A list of your student’s requests are available on StudentVue or ParentVue under Course Requests. Please contact your student’s counselor if you have any questions or concerns about their course selections for next year.
College Information
Seniors should be hearing from the financial aid offices of the colleges to which they have been accepted. Reply promptly to colleges and be sure to meet deadlines. When seniors make a final decision on their college choice, they should contact other schools to withdraw their admissions. If college-bound students have not yet applied to a college, they should do so as soon as possible. The counselors are happy to help with this process!
Dual Enrollment
Dual enrollment is an opportunity to take college courses for both high school and college credit. We work with area colleges with the district paying a designated amount for tuition and fees. Selected courses cannot be offered at Grand Blanc High School and must fit around the student’s high school schedule. Please contact Phyllis Mol, 591-6648, with any questions.
Credit Recovery
There is still time for students to enroll in our online credit recovery program after school. Students who are behind at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year will not be moved up to the next grade level so it is important that students get caught up using credit recovery or summer school. Feel free to contact your child’s counselor for an application or to answer any questions.
GBHS Summer School 2017
Summer school information and applications are available on the high school website under the “Summer School” tab, however registration will not begin until April 12. Summer P.E. classes fill up fast and are on a first come first served basis! Spaces in all summer school classes are limited. If you know that your son/daughter will need to take a summer school course, sign up early!
