AISM Newsletter Sept. 2020 Edition
Academics | Integrity | Service | Merit
Director's Message
Dear AISM Families,
Welcome to our inaugural 2020 AISM Newsletter. The AISM newsletter will be published the first week of every month with updates, highlights, and important information. We like many other schools worldwide are dealing with the effects of COVID 19. Some schools that started in-person classes have had to go back to virtual learning because of increased numbers of students and teachers testing positive for the virus. We decided to take a safety-first approach and start virtually. We are hopeful for the possibility of in-person classes in the 2nd Trimester that begins November 16th. Because we are a small school with big classrooms and outdoor spaces we will be able to social distance and keep health and safety protocols in place.
Nurse G is busy attending additional online courses at John Hopkins for COVID 19 Safety Protocol. He is also taking temperatures of faculty and all who enter the campus. He is making sure AISM will be well prepared when students return to campus. Before we officially return to campus, we will send a list of AISM Safety Protocols for parents, students, nannies, and drivers to follow.
Virtual classes are going well and I am happy to see so many students participating in daily Zooms and Google Classrooms. The teachers have gone out of their way to accommodate and increase live classes for students. The world of education has been forever changed by COVID 19. As Educators we knew we needed to upgrade our tech presence and knowledge; the global pandemic has pushed administrators, teachers, students, and parents to learn and use the tech tools we have to stay connected. We will feature monthly tech tips to help all of us with useful tips as it pertains to the apps we use at AISM. As we move towards returning to some type of normalcy in the world we know nothing can replace the in-person human connection of teacher to student.
Stay safe and healthy,
Dr.Bobbi
