Seniors: Do you have your Grad Night tickets?
Hello ACMA Families!
The ACMA Class of 2018, Grad Night Party is from 10:30pm June 9th to 5:30am June 10th at Conestoga Rec Center. To make this a success we need your help!
There will be a volunteer meeting on Monday, 6/4 at 7pm at Starbucks at Beaverton Town Center (next to Fred Meyer)… Please let me know if you can join us.
Here are the volunteer opportunities… Please let me know where you’d like to help:
- We need a dedicated Karaoke Attendant who is willing to meet with Mr. Brandau next week to learn how to setup and work the karaoke system. The Karaoke Attendant will handle the equipment during the party, preferably from 11-2. This is usually a huge hit with the kids and is sure to be a ton of fun! Anyone interested?
- 6/9 10pm-2am Chaperone- first shift: (3 volunteers)
- 6/10 2am-5:30am Chaperone-second shift (5 volunteers)
- 6/10 4:10am pickup coffee (2 traveler size) from Starbucks - Beaverton Town Center (1 volunteer)
- 6/10 5:30-6am Clean up (4 volunteers)
To ensure safety of our grads, we need chaperones to help supervise the party. Please consider volunteering for a shift the night of the party.
Thanks again for volunteering to make this a memorable grad night party for our graduates!

School to Career Program for 2018 Juniors & Seniors
Attention parents of soon-to-be juniors and seniors!
During your student’s junior and senior year at ACMA, they will have the opportunity to participate in a unique customized career experience! The Beaverton School District is partnered with the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce’s School to Career Program. The program provides career day opportunities for Beaverton School District students in grades 10-12. In addition to the career day opportunities, the program offers juniors and seniors a more in-depth experience. For juniors, a customized career day or job shadow experience called a CRLE (Career Related Learning Experience), and for seniors, a customized mini internship called an ELO (Experiential Learning Opportunity). Applications for next year’s juniors and seniors are now open and will close on October 15th, 2018. Spaces are limited. Students can access the application through their Canvas account (under “assignments” in their current ACMA grade level course) or here on the ACMA website. Contact shereena_johnston@beaverton.k12.or.us if you have questions.
2018 ACMA Chromebook Summer Checkout
Dear ACMA Parent/Guardian,
We are excited to announce starting Summer 2018, all students returning to ACMA next school year will be able to checkout their Chromebooks to use over the summer. This decision was made to extend student access to get online and complete a variety of tasks, including participating in summer school, working on assigned summer homework, working on college or scholarship applications. We encourage parents to promote positive digital citizenship over the summer.
Directions for OPT-IN summer Chromebook Checkout
Fill out the form on the back of this page and turn in to the Library (MUST have a signature from a parent or guardian).
Go to the Library before Tuesday, June 19 to checkout your Chromebook for the summer.
If your circumstances change and you are not returning to ACMA in the fall of 2018, you must return the Chromebook and charger to the Library. Summer hours are Monday-Thursday, 8am-3pm.
A Chromebook still checked out to a student who leaves ACMA will be remotely disabled, rendering it useless, and a $300 fine will be attached the student’s record.
If you are not checking out your Chromebook for the summer, you will return your Chromebook by June 15. Go to the Library to check in your device.
Guidelines for Chromebook Summer Checkout
Students are expected to comply with all BSD regulations and policies concerning the responsible use of technology as detailed in the Responsible Use of Technology Chromebook Handbook
This extended summer Chromebook check out is covered under the previous school year’s insurance (2017-2018 school year), and the damage and loss protection policy as detailed in the Responsible Use of Technology Chromebook Handbook still applies.
Do not expose your Chromebook to extreme temperature or direct sunlight for extended periods of time - do not leave your Chromebook in the a car in the sun!
Use extra caution if transporting the Chromebook to keep it safe and to make sure it returns with you. Remember that loss due to neglect is not covered by the damage and loss protection policy.
Loss of the charger is NOT covered by the damage/loss policy. Replacement will require a $20 payment to the Main Office.
There will be NO formal Chromebook technical support available at ACMA over the summer. Any necessary hardware repairs will need to wait until August 13th (Pre-Registration day).
