We will continue to read Hatchet. We have been learning a new signpost called again and again. We will continue to practice our close reading with our personal choice books. (see video below for an explanation).

We have challenged all 4th and 5th graders (and school staff) to a "40 book challenge". Your students have a chart at school to help track the books they are reading. This is to also encourage and challenge them (and myself) to read different genres than we typically choose.

We are doing more vocabulary work this week with our vocabulary list. We have set up our vocabulary notebook. We will have a quiz on our vocabulary on Friday. A review sheet will be sent home today (Monday)

Have a great week.

Notice and Note - Again and Again

We finished our first narratives! Be sure to follow us on Twitter @nce4th for some of the finished products. If your child's doesn't show up, it's possible it's still in progress or your child didn't want it photographed for Twitter.

We are mining our lives for future story ideas. Right now we are thinking of memories from our families. Feel free to offer suggestions of ideas of fun or crazy family moments.

Students will also have a word study quiz this Friday. I will attach a list of definitions to the calendar in Canvas in case the flash cards don't make it home.

If possible please allow your child to bring a device with a QR reader on Thursday.

We will be reviewing place value of whole numbers and decimals on Monday and Tuesday. If your student has a device, please allow them to bring it. We will have our first test on Wednesday over whole numbers and decimals.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Eubank

We will be working on the effects of heating and cooling on different states of matter this week.

We are having our first test tomorrow (Tuesday) on different scientific instruments, physical properties of matter, and how to measure them. Today we did a review guide in class.
