Growing in Faith Together

Preparing for Holy Week & Easter
Holy Thursday Church Pilgrimage
Thursday, April 1
Following a centuries-old tradition of venerating at least seven Altars of Repose after the Holy Thursday liturgy, the young adult ministry at St. Pius Tenth is trying to continue this tradition in 2021. If you are interested in joining other young adults in this pilgrimage and/or would like to help the ministry brainstorm how this might be done within our current restrictions, click here.
Reflecting on the Resurrection
Thursday, April 15
Join the young adults from St. Pius Tenth for some great discussion and reflection on the resurrection of our Lord. The discussion and reflection will be aided by the viewing of the movie, Risen. Risen, a 2016 movie, is about a Roman soldier searching for the resurrected Christ in the 40 days following the crucifixion. If you are interested in joining other young adults for this movie or would like more information, click here.
Still Time for Podcasts This Lent
There is still time to incorporate faith-based podcasts from Spoke Street Media into your Lenten observances. All podcasts are from relatable, authentic Catholic voices. Just like yours. Spoke Street Media, powered by Redeemer Radio, believes in Catholic media that is welcoming, encouraging, and inspirational. To learn more about Spoke Street Media's podcasts, click here.
An Opportunity for Almsgiving
(Photo Taken Prior to COVID-19 Restrictions)
The Southeast Rochester Catholic Community Supper Program has provided a warm, nutritious meal and hospitality to some of the most vulnerable in our neighborhoods. The Supper Program has always welcomed young adults to engage in this gift of service. If you or someone you know is interested, click here.
A Year of Saint Joseph
Marking the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph being declared patron of the universal church, Pope Francis proclaimed a yearlong celebration dedicated to the foster father of Jesus on December 8, 2020. To learn more about this year dedicated to Saint Joseph, check out the Diocese of Rochester's Year of St. Joseph website here. This time we share a recent Lenten retreat video from Saint John's Seminary, the home for many of the Diocese of Rochester's seminarians. Fr. Michael MacInnis, Director of Human Formation, speaks about how we can bring St. Joseph into our prayer and what we can learn from St. Joseph about how to pray.
Turnover and Transition: Young Adult Ministry Webinar

Leader transition in young adult ministry happens quite often and can create ambiguity, conflict, or even a partial or full collapse of the ministry. This webinar, hosted by the USCCB National Advisory Team on Young Adult Ministry and Loyola Institute for Ministry (Loyola University New Orleans), will look at those critical situations and explore creative strategies for ensuring constant ministerial presence and generating sustainability in pastoral leadership. The Twentysomething Handbook
Wednesday, April 28
Let’s face it: adulting isn’t easy. That’s why young-adult minister Nora Bradbury-Haehl created this essential guide to help young adults avoid the mistakes, missteps, and financial failures that took others years to learn. Join Nora and young adult ministers from the Diocese of Albany for a discussion about this book. It promises to be a time of encouragement and inspiration. For more information, click here.

Called & Gifted- COMING SOON!
All of us have something to discern! The Called & Gifted program provides valuable tools for discerning how to use the gifts or charisms God has given us to live out our vocations. The program will explore what those charisms are and what they look like in action. Someone out there is waiting for what you have been given to give! The Office of Evangelization & Catechesis is looking to form a cohort of young adults who are interested in going through this program. More details to come!
