The Do-Nothing Machine

What does the author do? What does the illustrator do? Where is the title or name of the book?

Children will describe the Do-Nothing machine by looking at the front cover.

Tell your child that the boy in the story uses nails to build his do-nothing machine. Tell them to listen for other building materials that he uses. Read the story. Pause to discuss vocabulary words, string and wood. Let your child rename the do-nothing machine. Ask them what the do-nothing machine could be used for?
