As a District, our goal is to continuously improve by creating optimal teaching and learning conditions and environments. Candid feedback from staff members provides crucial information to help the District realize this mission.
The link below will take you to a survey that contains 55 questions addressing multiple areas and includes numerous comment boxes for detailed feedback.
Please take time to answer each question as thoughtfully as possible. In order to be as thorough as possible, please allow yourself approximately 45 minutes to complete the survey. Your feedback is completely anonymous. The survey will close on February 10, 2016.
Thank you in advance for your participation!
Counselor's Couch...
To wrap up our monthly character trait of citizenship, students participated in a lesson on cyberbullying and inappropriate use of social media. Students are encouraged to follow guidelines to keep them safe online. Please talk with your students about keeping their online profiles as private as possible, blocking anyone who may be bothering them, reporting the incident to a trusted adult, and saving the information. It is also important to reinforce to students to avoid response or retaliation.

7th grade girls basketball report (Coach Hill)
No report given.
8th grade girls basketball report (Coach Rogers)
The 8th grade girls basketball team traveled to Comfort for their last road game of the 2016 season. Because of our small numbers in the 8th grade B game, we decided to combine our 8th grade squad with some up and coming 7th graders. With only 6 girls on the B team bench, we managed to put up a good fight against the 14 Lady deer bench. The score of the game did not directly reflect the effort shown by the Lady Vikings. They played very good defense in the game, but could not compete with the well-rested squadrons of Lady deer that rotated in and out of the game. The final score, however, was 11-24, in favor of Comfort. The offensive player of the game was Destiny Deveze with 6 points scored, and the defensive player of the game was Dakota Hutchins, from the 7th grade squad.
The 8th grade A also started their last road game of the season with a stand-up job of hustle and defense against the Comfort Lady Deer. Much like the B game, the Lady Vikings “held their own” in the first half, trailing only by 6, but fatigue affected us greatly in the second half. Comfort was able to roll in 3 sets of fresh new players every 3 or 4 minutes from their bench, while the Lady Vikings played with only 3 subs the entire game. Defensively, it was the best we have ever played, despite what the numbers on the scoreboard showed. We are very proud of our girls who played till the final buzzer buzzed, knowing in their hearts, that they still had a chance to pull out the victory. At the final buzzer, the Lady Vikings fell short of the victory on the board, but not in their hearts. The final score of the game was 19-40. The defensive player of the game was Haley Nicholls, blocking 4 shots on the night, and having 3 steals in the game against players much larger than she. The offensive player of the game was Mallory Webb with 8 points scored.
We are proud of all of our teams and would like to thank all of those who made the trip to Comfort to support us in the stands. Our last game of the 2016 season will be against Florence, in Lago Vista, on Thursday, February 4, 2016. Games start at 5pm. We hope to see you there. GO VIKINGS!
7th grade boys basketball report (Coach Rague)
Tonight was exciting night of basketball for the 8th graders. Starting with the be game we came out strong, the leading scorer was Nathan cannon followed by gonzo Hidalgo. Jack Stewart and Jackson played amazing defense all night. Zach Johnson and Nate spires led the press in the 8th grade be game. Everest Colvin had a cyst and buckets. Anything Harris dominated the paint in rebounding. It was a tough, tough loss to comfort but our B team has played hard great job.
8th grade a team was a very exciting game tonight. If there was one game to see tonight it was that game, with an overtime win by the 8th graders. Dylan Mckee led the offense with 23 points tonight. Sam Hurley came in second with 14 points. Ben Carlton and Hunter Sims were amazing at rebounding tonight on the offensive and defensive side of the board. Josh Hernandez and Andrew Smith played some of the most amazing defense tonight, I've seen all year. Preston coffee led the team in assist, and Tristan Arambula and Nathan Wiechmen played lockout defense on some of their best shooters. At the end of regulation it was tied. Our boys came back in overtime and won by 3 points with a last-second layup by Sam Hurley to put it up by 1, with a steal by Dylan McKee to put us up by 3. Great game all around thank you all for coming out tonight. great job8th grade all around..
8th grade boys basketball report (Coach Tomlin)
The 7th Grade A team took on Comfort last night here in Lago Vista. The Boys have had some some slow starts to begin games in the past but last night their were ready to go from the tip. The boys jumped out to a 10-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter so things slow down for the Vikings as Comfort increased their intensity. The halftime score favored Lago 15-11. As has been the case in many games this year, the third quarter belonged to the Vikings. As a team, the Vikings scored 15 points in the quarter and extended their lead to 30-19 going into 4th quarter. The scoring kept up into the fourth quarter where the vikings ended up winning by a margin of 42-28.
For the game there was a lot of individual growth. Kaleb Alderete scored 12 points on the night but more importantly played stellar defense while committing no fouls. Lucas Lawless continued his strong play and also scored 12 points while sinking a 3 pointer as well. Josh Alexander controlled the paint and led the team once again in rebounding. Rory Maxwell, Trace Sweet, and Noah Yetley played with a lot of energy and played strong defense once again.
The 7th grade B team had an exciting, down to the wire game vs Comfort but came up short losing 26-21. All 17 players were able to get in the game and make positive contributions. Ernesto Hernandez and Cash Jennings really stuck out as players who are making improvements week by week. Bryce Erickson had a strong game scoring and rebounding once again. It has been a pleasure to watch the effort and desire of the B team throughout the season. We plan to end our season next week with two more victories.
