HOLLISTER HIGH

Community Newsletter: 1/8-1/12

FROM THE DESK OF DR. GRAHAM...

HHS Tigers,

We are entering into our first full week of the 2018 school year! It was great to see our Tigers back in the building last week and we are ready to take on 2018! Something new to our Tigers this year will be our new College and Career Readiness platform, Naviance. Students will be accessing this digital platform during their Monday Pride Time Advisory periods. I will be sending out more information to parents/guardians as we look to build stronger connections with students to engage in college and career planning.

Additionally, our 17-18 Handbook has been amended to reflect some important adjustments in regards to our End of Course Assessments.

Please be sure to review the included items in this weeks newsletter as we have a lot of activities taking place.

REMINDERS:

  • If you utilize the student drop of zone please be aware of the traffic adjustments that have been made. The below document will outline the adjustments made.
  • ATTENDANCE: Your support and partnership in this area is crucial. Please examine your students attendance and help support Hollister High School by encouraging a high percentage of attendance. If your student's attendance is below 90% we will be in touch to see if there is anything we can do to help support.

I am looking forward to a great week at HHS! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. GO TIGERS!

Sincerely,

Dr. Travis Graham, Principal

17-18 COMPREHENSIVE ATTENDANCE REPORT

Keep updated with how we are tracking and reporting student attendance.

ATTENDANCE UPDATE...

Please continue to help support your student to make positive decisions about school attendance. To help ensure we continue moving in the right direction: schedule routine appointments after school hours, if this is not possible, please make sure your student comes back to school - every minute counts. Try to avoid calling in and releasing your student from school early. Remember - students' whose attendance falls below 90% may be subject to varying attendance interventions. Please refer to the student handbook pp. 36-38 for more information. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to meet our goal of 90% of our students achieving 90% or higher attendance. GO TIGERS!!!
