Book Fair
We will visit the book fair on Monday morning. If you would like your kiddo to shop for books, you are welcome to send money to school on Monday.
Looking for Volunteers!
Your help is needed for Junior Achievement Day at Merton Primary School. If you are interested in helping in our classroom, please see the handout that is attached to my email for more information.
It's a Mystery to Me...
We have been busy working as detectives in Reader's Workshop! Our class is consumed in our mystery book clubs and learning about all the elements of a mystery. We have been exploring our own chapter books with our literacy partners. Some of our whole group activities have included working with short story mysteries, playing a "Who Done It?" game, and breaking apart a Scooby Doo cartoon to find the elements of mysteries.

Baby Literary Essay
In Writer's Workshop we are busy writing baby literary essays! The kiddos crafted their thesis statements. They were also busy writing about character traits with supporting evidence from their picture books. This week we focused on The Lorax. Next week the kiddos will be writing about their own characters from self chosen books.
