Congratulations to our Hewitt-Trussville High School National Merit Semi-Finalists!
To become a National Merit Semifinalist, you must meet four requirements set by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation
- Enrolled as a high school student progressing toward graduation
- Plan to enroll full-time in college starting the fall following high school graduation
- Be a U.S. Citizen or lawful U.S. Permanent resident planning to become a U.S. Citizen
- Earn a top PSAT score generally you'll need to score in the top 1% of juniors to qualify.
Semifinalists are the highest-scoring program entrants in each state and represent the top 0.5 percent of the state's senior students.

The Alabama Department of Health (ADPH) Toolkit Guidelines for Assessing Students and Staff with Positive COVID-19 Tests or COVID Symptoms
Our school nurses are working hard to limit exposure to students by sending students home if there is a close contact to one of the three major symptoms or an exposure to a positive case. If there is a situation involving close contact or exposure at school, the school nurse will call and/or email the parent of the students. If you do not receive a call and/or email, your child has not had close contact or exposure at school.
School Nurses then report data directly to the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) according to Pages 9 and 10 from the ADPH toolkit copied below.
Please do not send your child to school sick or if someone in your family has tested positive or has symptoms.
