Captain's Log
PASS CHRISTIAN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
Ahoy, Pirates!
As many mourn the loss of Kobe Bryant and the passengers in the helicopter, I cannot help but find purpose in his life to try to make sense of this all. Through is skill and talent, he taught lessons along the way that demonstrated what a strong work ethic and attitude of winning can do for a person/organization. He was quoted as saying, "Everything negative - pressures - challenges, is all an opportunity for me to rise." It is the same type of spirit I see in all of you. You take the pressures of life and the challenges we are presented and make the best out of it all. We are who we are because each day you make a conscious decision to be great and to ensure our students rise to their potential. Thank you for understanding what our children need to be successful and for doing whatever it takes to gain success.
I grew up in the Michael Jordan era; he was my definition of excellence on the court. Then came this young man named Kobe who played his own style and was great in his own way. Today's children have Lebron James, and he is altogether different from the previous two. Yet, each one was successful in his own way - they have the stuff of which legends are made. They each enjoy/enjoyed high levels of success because they follow/followed a few simple rules (see below). What rules do you follow?
With that, I submit the Captain's Log. #2020vision #committedtoeXcellence #eXcellencemarksthespot cje

FabLab to Offer Summer Camps
The FabLab will conduct summer camps for our children this summer. The camps will hold 20 students per camp and will serve students 9 to 14. Each camp will cost $50 per camp. We have asked the principals to wait until the first week in March to share this information.
Teachers may attend and earn CEUs as well. Our ultimate goal is to launch an X-STREAM Summer Camp series having a camp for each letter in the word. We plan to offer our camps in the summer of 2021. If you are interested in leading a camp, please attend to learn more about the process.

PCMS STUDENTS VISITS CITY LIBRARY
Recently, PCMS students took a walking field trip to the Pass Christian Public Library to receive their library cards. This is a first for the library. Typically students' parents must be present when they receive their cards. However, through a partnership with the library, the school was able to accomplish the task. Students will have opportunities to check out books online and to use them on their personal devices. #instantclasssets
I would like to thank the teachers and students for a job well done. Thanks also go out to the administrative team and Mrs. Cooper for your leadership during this new adventure. According to Mrs. Allard, our students were top-notch!
Wendy Allard writes...
The students were polite and inquisitive. They arrived and left for each visit in a timely fashion. On Thursday, our internet was not working at the library and everyone was so patient and helpful. The visits were enjoyable (which is not always the case).
We appreciate the opportunity to show the students what the public library can offer! They are welcome to visit us anytime and we hope they will return in the near future.
They were exemplary "Pirates" and they arrrrr always welcome at the library.
