Mother Theresa once said, "I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples". At Alkek our teachers work daily to make world wide changes one child at a time; creating ripples of lasting impacts that our students will hopefully carry with them as they advance in life and travel through the world. Sometimes as teachers we are not certain as to how far the ripples have traveled, or if our efforts to make impacts upon our students were effective. It often takes more time than we would like to reap the rewards of our efforts and countless hours of work. The impacts have been great and the ripples have traveled far, we can see this among the current successes our students of Bandera ISD have been producing. The results of the small stones cast upon the waters of education and character building are showing their effects. Our district is continuing to make impacts so great, we are becoming Nationally recognized and making an impact on the world around us!

Teachers are not the only creators of these ripples of impact, you parents are also contributors to the wake of change. Sometimes we forget that what we do, whether they are large acts or small ones, make the most profound wakes. Those love notes of encouragement you place in their lunch boxes, the questions you ask after school about their day, the attendance to school events, and the fun you make for you children create everlasting impacts. Keep up the good work, because of you and your support, your children are creating their own impacts upon the world!
