Sooooooooo PROUD of TEAM GOMPERS we gave it our all for our GATORS!!!
Dear Gompers Families,
This year is definitely one for the record books...no doubt about it. But as I sit back and reflect upon our year, I am beyond pleased with our work as a school community. Soooooooo many amazing things have happened for the good of Gompers. We started the year saying we were Goingggggg GREEN and we have definitely gone green as a school community (teachers staff, students and parents) demonstrating, GRIT, RESPONSIBILITY, EXPECTATIONS, ETHICS, and NEIGHBORLY in our work. We are building and developing a common language of expectation for student academics and social interactions/behavior.
I want to publically acknowledge the GOMPERS STAFF for giving it their all this year...with a new administrator, new expectations and renewed commitment to focus our school's success across a K8 continuum we worked to come together by establishing our #why. We have built some initial foundation blocks for moving the needle and work to even greater heights for the students in whom we serve.
I want to publicly thank those we have departed our team and others who will begin new journies: Mrs. Bethel, Mr. Grayland, and Mr. Francisco (retirement) and Ms. Brandi Ramirez, Ms. Jean Henshall, Mr. Clint Vis, and Mr. Ryan Ohl to new school communities. We appreciate your dedication and commitment to our students and school. Please know that once you are a GATOR, you are always a GATOR!!
There are no words to express the unwavering support of GOMPERS PTA to our school's success. Thank you for all you do and continue to do to support our school. So many programs, resources, and opportunities for our students at Gompers would not happen without the work that is done by PTA. Simply, thank you and I look forward to our continued collaboration and partnership for our school's success.
Parents...the last 10 weeks, have not been anything we could imagine. I thank you for all you have done over the last half of the year. You have had to turn into an at-home teacher overnight and it was not an easy task....thank you for not giving up. You have been my heroes in weathering this pandemic and its effect on school closure.
Grades: Official report cards for middle school students will be mailed home. Feedback related to student learning for students in grades K-5 will be available in Parent VUE, under student academic summary (SAS) (however, it is not a report card it is just feedback on learning)
Please, note I will continue to communicate, via this weekly online platform. **If you know of a parent/family who is NOT receiving the weekly bulletins emailed from me each week, please have them communicate to the office staff because that means their information has somehow been "blocked". We want all families to be updated and in the know with communication.
I started the year...sharing, I do not take the role of principalship very lightly and I am humbled to be of service and support to the Gompers community...I end the year with the same commitment to serving.
Looking forward to Fall 2020 and continuing our journey as #GATORNATION!!
Respectfully,
Dr. Miller
