Oakland County Toolkit
The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Toolkits will provide guidance to help educators design new, or best utilize existing, pre-assessments to plan for differentiation of content, use results from pre-assessments to inform instruction, and prioritize K-12 instructional standards for the 2020-2021 School Year. The CIA Toolkits will guide teachers to implement instructional approaches to meet the range of student needs as they return to school in the fall, identify assessment ideas that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways, assess and provide instruction in the content areas in face-to-face, virtual, and blended classroom environments, and incorporate well-being and SEL/trauma-informed practices into instruction. For an orientation to the toolkits, be sure to watch an introduction to Oakland Schools Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Toolkits for COVID-19 Reopening.

7-8 p.m. ET
Educators face a unique set of challenges and opportunities in the upcoming school year due to the disruptions to education caused by COVID-19 in the spring and the complexities of reopening schools. In this webinar, you will be introduced to the 2020-21 Priority Instructional Content in English Language Arts/Literacy and Mathematics, which leverages the structure and emphases of college- and career-ready standards to name content priorities and support focus on critical on-grade-level material.
Providing equitable instruction requires that we hold high expectations for all students while focusing on their social emotional and academic development. This guidance, intended for curriculum designers, coaches, and publishers, will help educators to meet the needs of all of their students as they navigate the 2020-21 school year.
A certificate verifying one hour of professional learning time will be available to participants, and the webinar will be recorded for on-demand viewing.
