Message from Mr. Raber
Hello Families of Lin Howe!
As we roll into the new year, we are so excited to continue finding new ways to show our P.R.I.D.E. on campus. The letters in P.R.I.D.E help represent and remind students and staff about our school-wide expectations of Perseverance, Respect, Inclusion, Determination, and Empathy. This week, I had the fortunate opportunity to visit a variety of classrooms from TK-5th as well as meet with Parents at our Coffee & Chat, introducing and reintroducing these expectations using the power of music! With the ukulele in hand and two newly written songs, students, staff, and families built community by reading new lyrics, singing melodies, and using motions to show our P.R.I.D.E.
Moving forward this year with our Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS), we'll continue to utilize a multi-tiered approach that supports the social-emotional and academic needs of all students. Below are some pics and videos of a few of the classrooms that participated in our sing-along highlighting just one of many PBIS strategies.
I look forward to getting into all our classrooms next week, using these songs as a launching point to dive deeper into our five P.R.I.D.E expectations throughout the year!
With Love,
Mr. Raber

Backpack for Kids Information
Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) believes that no child in our community should go hungry or have food insecurities, especially on weekends when students don’t have access to school-sponsored breakfast and lunch. The Culver City Council PTA, in conjunction with CCUSD, provides students in need with a backpack filled with non-perishable food and snacks each week to ensure that every child can eat on the weekends. If you would like your student to receive a weekly backpack, sign up here: https://forms.gle/HH595xKxJGr9H8tw8 or complete a form in your school office.
There is no cost to participate and enrollment is 100% confidential. Each week, filled backpacks will be available for pickup. You or your child, simply pick up the backpack and take it home. Backpacks will not be returned each week; your student will receive a new backpack each week. Enrollment is ongoing so any child in need can sign up for the program at any time throughout the school year.
