It was a wonderful week...
It was another awesome week at Foothills. Students are settling into routines so nicely. This week we began our benchmark testing. Students persevered through the assessments. Our benchmark assessments are used to identify skill gaps for kids. We used these identified gaps to plan intentional supports for students. We give this type of assessment 3 times a year to ensure students are growing. Our para team is integral in supporting our teachers and students throughout this process. A big thank you to them!
Our PBIS team is hard at work planning for our first assembly for Falcon of the Month. Parents of the students who receive the award for the month will be invited to attend. We are so excited to be able to open up the campus and have assemblies with families present! More details coming soon!
Thank you, and have a wonderful upcoming week!
Change of Dismissal Plan
- If you need to change the end of day dismissal plan for your child please call the office by 2:30 to ensure that we have adequate time to get the information to your child's teacher. You can call the office at (360) 829-3355.
- Please be sure to let the office know if you will be parking to pick up your student or if you will be going through car pick up. The locations are different and we want to make sure we have your child in the correct location. Thank you for your help with this!
Attendance
An unexcused absence is when a student is absent from school, and the parent or guardian has not called to inform the school of the reason for the absence. An excused absence is when a student is absent from school, and you communicate with the office.
You can call and leave a message with a reason for the absence 24 hours a day at (360) 829-3355 or email at mclay@whiteriver.wednet.edu
Arrival and Dismissal Plan Review
Walkers: Please use the front sidewalk and entrance to the school instead of the bus parking lot to walk through. With buses pulling in, it is a safety hazard to have families walking through! Thank you!
Walkers: For students who are walking up from the neighborhoods or the parking lot, please use the doors by the gym. There is not a sidewalk linking to the rainbow area. Thank you for your help with this!
Car Drop Off: Beginning at 8:45: Use the lane closest to the curb and pull all the way to the roundabout. Release students from the car only in the rainbow roundabout. There is a new sidewalk for them to use. Students will enter through the doors by the orange wing. If they want breakfast, they will enter the cafeteria. If not, they will head to the gym and wait for the first bell.
Car pick-up
NEW: Use the lane closest to the curb and pull all the way through the rainbow roundabout. You will let the staff at the colored curb know your child's name. Thank you for your patience as we work through improving this system.
Park and pick-up
If you prefer to park and get out to get your student, you can use the left lane to pull through and park. Then use the crosswalk to meet your child at the front entrance of the school. A staff member will be there to meet you and get your student.
Friendly
Our character trait of the month is Friendly.
Being friendly means that you are patient and kind to others. You try and include everyone in games and activities.
You are an active bystander to others, meaning you are supportive to everyone even if they aren’t your friend.
Sometimes being friendly means you need to be brave and ask someone to join you even if you are nervous.
