Trunk or Treat Mark your calendar and save the date for this year’s Hailey Trunk or Treat on October 25 from 5:30-7:00pm. Hailey students may wear child friendly costumes and visit with friends on this special night. Please, no scary costumes!
PTA Family Movie Night rescheduled!
The Hailey PTA has rescheduled Family Movie Night for Friday, November 8. The Secret Life of Pets II will be the feature of the evening. Admission to the event is free and concessions will be available for sale. The doors will open at 5:30pm and the movie will begin at 5:45pm. Please bring a blanket and pillow, but no chairs please. Come with the family and enjoy a fun evening. This is a family event, so families must stay to supervise their children.
Fall Fun Run
It’s time for the annual College Park Fall Fun Run! The event will take place at CPHS on Wednesday, October 22. The Fall Fun Run is open to all students in third and fourth grades. The one-mile run will start and finish inside the football/track stadium at College Park High School. The event will start at 4:00 p.m. and conclude at approximately 5:30 p.m. Participants should wear running shoes, shorts/pants, and their school t-shirt. All finishers will receive a Finisher’s Ribbon commemorating the 2019 event. It is advised that all Fun Run participants are able to run the complete one-mile course.
Grogan's Mill Battery Challenge - Collection Challenge November 9 @ 3R Bazaar at The Woodlands Farmer's Market
The 3R Bazaar will be held at The Woodlands Farmer’s Market on November 9th. The village challenge this year is used battery collection. The Village Associations compete to win money from the Township for the most batteries by weight. The GMVA then donates these winnings to the schools in our village as well as to students through scholarships for higher education (this year we are able to fund five $2000 scholarships). Last year we (the GMVA) collected almost 700 pounds. While winning the money is great for our village, it also keeps so much toxic garbage out of the landfill. We have a month to go before the Bazaar.

Coats for Kids Collection Bin is located in Hailey front lobby.

Library News
Local Authors Visit Hailey in October
This October three local authors will visit Hailey Elementary students. Susan Langlois will share her book Everything Is Going To Be All Right: A Book About Hurricane Harvey with 3rd and 4th grades on October 16. Victoria Martin will share Itty Bitty Wouldn't Budge and Itty Bitty...Is That You? with Kindergarten on October 23. Finally, Lori Kaiser will share Callie the Cat: A Halloween Story, Liar Liar Jimmy Jaguar, and Zane the Rodeo Zebra with 1st and 2nd grades on October 30. If you would like to purchase a copy of any of these books, please complete the attached order form and return it to Mrs. Puller in the library.
Library Volunteers Needed
The Hailey Library is seeking volunteers for Monday and Friday afternoons. Other shifts are available as well. Library volunteers typically come in once a week to help students check out books, return books to the shelves, and work on special projects. Morning volunteers work from 8:20-10:50 and assist 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade students. Afternoon volunteers work from 1:20-3:00 and assist Kindergarten and 3rd grade students. Volunteering in the library is a great way to meet other parents, get connected to the school, and help kids. If you are interested in becoming a library volunteer, please email Mrs. Puller at kpuller@conroeisd.net.
