San Jacinto PTA Newsletter
January 2018
Welcome to 2018!
One new thing we will be doing this year is providing a small lunch for the staff on STAAR test days. We will be doing this instead of the big luncheon in May. Please be on the look out for a Sign Up Genius for each of these lunches and we would love any help you could give!
There are four Mustang Motivator parties coming this spring and parents are always welcomed to come help serve and supervise the students.
There will be lots of Dads and Moms to Lunch on campus days where we hope to see you at SJ interacting with the students.
Please see below for a couple of Sign Up Genius links where you can lend a hand and an online link to order your 2017-2018 school yearbook.
Have a great spring 2018!
Reflections - Arts in Education
Congratulations to these students who won at the SJ campus level. Their entries will be going to the City of Midland PTA Reflections competition to be judged against other Junior Highs. Best of luck to you all!

What do you teach at SJ? 7th grade Science
What are your hobbies? My favorite hobbies are traveling with my husband. We love the Big Bend area and call ourselves Desert Rats. How awesome is our world!! Also, I love to knit, it is super relaxing and at the end you have something to show!
What would you most like to tell your 13 year old self? If I could speak with myself at the wise age of 13, back when I knew EVERYTHING, I would say, "It's important". It's important: the grades you make, the relationships you nurture, how you treat others, the things you try and the things you give up, the opportunities you grasp, the people you surround yourself with, how you spend your spare time, being faithful to your faith. It's all important!! YOU ARE IMPORTANT

Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? What is it and why?
I would rather work at the perfect job. I'm sure a lot of money would be great, but it might not be as fulfilling as a life spent in a perfect job with people you like.
What are you passionate about?
I have several things that I am passionate about. First is Jesus and being committed to following Him, then family, and helping others, and cooking.
What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?
My favorite thing about being a teacher is students. I love to get to know them and their personalities, and doing my best to help them learn.
Staff Christmas Luncheon
A great big thank you to everyone who donated a gift card or items for the lunch! The lasagna was perfect for a cold day and your desserts were incredible! Thank you so much for helping make this event a huge success and a way to recognize and bless our teachers.
Thank you!!
Happy Volunteers
The gifts cards were a hit!
