Bright Ideas Fall Registration
2016-17 School Year Programs
Registration Run Down:
Although we are having fun with summer, it is time to start thinking about fall. We would like to invite you to explore the Bright Ideas program offerings for the 2016-17 school year. Please reference this flyer for info on all your favorite BILC happenings. Please contact Traci if you have any questions about programs or enrollment.
The primary registration window is now open and runs through August 15th. Enrollment is always ongoing, but we encourage you to make your plans for fall with us now.
Be sure to remind any families you refer to us to mention your name for your referral bonus. (Referral Policy: Two free days of care will be granted to a family who refers another child for care. The credit will be given after the new child has been in attendance at the center for two weeks.) You can earn a double bonus of 4 days of credit for any families referred by you who register for our pre-k program!
Before & After School Care (grades 5K-5th)
After school care will be offered at both the center location and at our Wales Campus site until 6:00 P.M. daily. Those attending the center location will have transportation from Dousman Transport after school. It is each family's responsibility to contact Dousman Transport to list BILC as their child's alternate stop and provide them with your child's schedule. Their phone number is 262-965-2214.
After offering services at both locations last year, we have come to understand many families find benefits from each. Here is what we have heard:
Center Location ...
* home-like atmosphere helps kids relax
* bus ride provides a welcome transition at the end of the school day
* older siblings can reunite with their pre-k siblings
* kids have such fun with the unique outdoor equipment
* small groups allow for focused activities & separate age groups
Wales Campus Location ...
* convenience of your child attending after extra-curricular activities & clubs
* avoiding a bus ride can be nice
* trips to the Dragon's Den & Library are great for studying
* the kids get to use the playground equipment
* there is the opportunity for large group activities in the big space & on cold or rainy days
On the registration form you can indicate which location you would prefer your child to attend. We will confirm your child's after school care location prior to the start of the school year and will do our best to accommodate all requests.

BILC Pre-K (ages 3-5 years old)
Bright Ideas offers our own independent 3K/4K multi-age pre-k program during the school year. The BILC pre-k program focuses on our center's mission of anywhere, anytime learning and puts a strong emphasis on independence, social & emotional skill building, and inspiring the desire to learn. The program is play-based and incorporates many opportunities for students to direct and plan their own learning experiences. Field trips are a key element in this program with at least one trip per week to head out into the community. Although the weekly curriculum experiences are inspired by the students and directed by our teachers, the Key Developmental Indicators (KDI's) from the High Scope Curriculum help to guide the program. Integration of the KDI's into the Bright Ideas program helps to ensure all elements of a well-round pre-k experience are available to our students.
Pre-K students attending for the morning program:
* have the opportunity to grow in the program and attend longer days at any point in preparation for full day 5 year old kindergarten
* go on field trips frequently
* experience the focused play-based curriculum and group learning environment in the morning hours
* enjoy a morning snack provided by BILC
Pre-K students attending for the morning & afternoon program:
* experience the full pre-k curriculum each day as many opportunities for learning are integrated into the transitions, meals, and afternoon activities with our Wales 4K group
* go on field trips frequently
* bring a bag lunch each day - BILC offers milk or water
* keep a blanket and pillow at the center for rest period
* enjoy 2 snacks provided by BILC
Mrs. Fronk and Ms. Carlie work together as the pre-k teachers so please stop in to speak to them to learn more about the benefits for your child.
