Humanitarianism Opportunity - With Your Classmates!
Working with millionmealmovement.org, I have organized a local food packing event for about 20-30 students from our team for Saturday, December 15th. There are some important criteria to understand, first though.
1) The event will be Sat, December 15th from 9am - 11am - Students would need to be able to stay for the ENTIRE time and would need to have a ride to promptly drop off and pick up at 8:50am (drop off) and 11am(pick up)
The location is very close to Fishers.

2) To participate, the cost is $20. This money goes directly to Million Meal Movement to purchase the food materials needed for the meal packages. I would HIGHLY encourage that families ask their children to EARN this money by possibly doing acts of service around the house or helping neighbors. I really want to impress upon the kids that it is not about just donating money - the things we DO are what can really affect others.
3) A permission slip will go home with interested students on Monday. These would need to be reviewed with parents, signed, and returned to school with the $20 cash payment by Friday, December 7th. If more than 30 students turn in permission slips, participants will be chosen by lottery. SO, please be sure your child is committing as an individual and that his/her participation is not dependent upon whether a friend will be doing it too.
4) Students attending would have to have a high level of maturity. We will be representing HIJH and will be working together to pack as many meals as we can in the allotted time. It will take focus and effort (but will be a lot of fun too!)
5) This can count as one of the students' three humanitarianism projects for the year.
Look for permission slips to come home on Monday!
